Jess' TP joke towards the end *chef kiss*
I think my problem with all of these games (Bravely Default, Octopath) is how crushingly generic and forgettable everything about them is. Granted it was almost 10 years ago now but I could not tell you a single thing about Bravely Default and I 100% completed that game. I put like 20 hours into Octopath (and rolled credits on the merchant storyline I started with before getting to bored to continue) and I absolutely could not tell you a single plot beat for any storyline if you put a gun to my head. I definitely played the whole demo for this last year and yet again, I cannot name a single faction, character, or anything off the top of my head.
I haven't played Final Fantasy Tactics in at least 5 years and I can still remember all the plot beats with Delita and who does what with the Zodiac stones and everything. Even with weird dumb names like Zalbag and Mustadio. It makes me sad that a game with a name like Triangle Strategy (which is actually perfectly fitting for the product on offer, now that I think about it) is being presented as a worthy competitor.
@charaznablecustom: This is why I like them. That Japanese medieval fantasy aesthetic is comforting to me.
Thank you for the quick look.
it's THE Rude
The issue with having to land on an item to pick it up is straight from the first FF Tactics.
It feels like Square is just out to spite FF Tactics and Tactics Ogre fans at this point, the story iand characters in those games are still high watermarks for games writing in general, instead we get this boilerplate generic trash in its place.
