@magmamud: Some people really took his comment that modern Japanese games suck out of context as well. I think that was at GDC?

But, if you watch that panel Jonathan Blow (and the rest of the panel) go on to agree with him that they all dislike modern Japanese game design.

This seems really shallow and annoying to play.

I've tried this demo 3 or 4 times at one of those Best Buy PSVR demo days. This is a day one purchase for me. Just strengthens my preorder that much.

So is this like that Potzol's Corridor game on the Wii?

Why does it looks like it's 4:3?

I tried this at at a PSVR experience in a local mall. It's quite fun, and I definitely wanted to play it more- it ramps up really fast. It was one of the only VR games I tried for the PS VR that encouraged me to stand up and really walk around the space I was in to get new perspectives on what I needed to do, which I think is the best part about VR.

Had no idea Phil Fish was involved in it- and knowing he is doesn't detract from my experience in any way. I feel like some commenters here should try to separate their opinions on Phil with the game itself- if no one had told you it was Phil Fish, would you still dislike it?

This is totally one of those games that feels like if it was from anybody but someone the crew at GB knew they would rip it to shreds for being so straight forward and lame.

Could also say this gen's brown games (tone mapping) like during the early 360 days, or lens flare before that!

It drove me nuts in Soma and when I first loaded up the new Doom, it looked "wrong" in a way that almost made be uncomfortable. It turned out it was the more subtle chromatic aberration effect there too. Thankfully they made it an option in Doom; breathed one heck of a sight of relief when I found out you could turn it off.

@ballsleon: It's a valid opinion to have. To scew it as having racist undertones, as many people have, is ridiculous.

This looks wonderful. A Vive release using a "tactile" cube cluster would be brilliant.

6 faces with 4 rotations per face, so depending on the object it could have 24 different outlines. It may be tricker to find quickly than it at first seems.

Fish and their friends always have something cool to show. And he looks pretty cool today despite I recalled that he don't want to be back in business anymore.

Also I'm not sure how thoroughly this comment section has been pruned, but it looks like the vast majority of people commenting are happy to see Phil. That's nice, I like that.

@kcin: I feel like the Giant Bomb community likes Phil Fish because he's come off as an actual human being who seems alright in the prior videos he's been in, whilst the twitter/4chan crowd have decided they have a hate-boner on for the concept of Phil Fish and what they perceive he stands for.

The style of this game is just stellar, loving the neon.

@pants: This is actually a good point. Though I found him very human and admirable in his dedication to his work in the Indie Game documentary, it was really the after hours shit on GB that won me over (not that I ever had a negative opinion of him, frankly.)

If the world wants Phil Fish to whine at it, then it will give him an excuse. If the world doesn't want Phil Fish's opinion, then the world should keep its mouth shut and everything will be fine.

Fame is the worst. It robs people of the freedom to be people. I, for one, don't mind that Phil Fish exists and makes cool things happen.

Edit: I can see myself getting lost in this for hours. Absolutely wonderful aesthetic. Maybe not surprising, considering Phil Fish... Man, a lot of things are trying to emulate the 80's aesthetic again, now that it's become fashionably retro, but I don't think I've ever seen anything that makes it feel like I'm inside whatever the 80's were made of. I enjoy this a lot.

Small detail but I love how the neon tube lighting everywhere follows the physical rules of that technology. What I mean is that you won't see a closed box of light with some other graphic inside of that box. You always need a break somewhere for the other light to get in like how an LCD display works.
