Wait, this isn't the FFIX Quick Look.

I guess I should have known it would be a Totally New Game taking Gears of War in an Exciting New Direction after seeing those N64 controllers.

Yup, that sure looks like more Gears of War.

Much like Halo 5 this seems like an exercise of the creatively bankrupt. They are even aping the exact same marketing style stuff as they have for every other Gears game.

@sammo21: Halo 5 I felt moved the MP forward, for better or worse. Mechanically it plays incredibly smooth and adds a lot to the formula over past games. I'm not really seeing anything new or interesting here. It kind of looks exactly like Gears 3.

@geflato: I personally think that Destiny killed any of that for me. I found it was smoother and more fun to play, it just happens the co-op story stuff wasn't as fun as I wanted it to be. Halo 5 felt like a reaction to Call of Duty and Destiny opposed to doing its own thing which was the exact same problem I had with Halo 4.

I'm with Jeff , i played the fuck out of gears 1 and 2 , then kinda fell off it, played 3 , thought it was okay but ever since then i lost any and all intrest in new gears. Dodgeball seems really cool though.

This makes me miss the awesome matches I played in the first Gears of War, but not enough to get into a new one.

Interesting, he was in the same group of press that Javy Gwaltney from GI was, if you watch their Test Chamber you can see the same kill cams and such.

That weapon that drops a bullet seems pretty neat.

I wonder how big the chance is that this will drop on PC.

The manner in which Gears multiplayer always devolved into a bunch of dudes fishing for one-shot kills with shotguns never appealed to me. Will very likely skip this one..

I wish their enemies didn't look so much like more of the same bulky humans...

When I first read this I thought it was God of War 4 and I about fell out of my chair. But this is cool, too.

Those are some, um, graphics, alright.

That camera shake is awful. Never played a gears game, won't pick this one up either.

This seems identical to Gears 3 in a bummer sort of way.

I liked Gears 3, but c'mon, make a new game.

I used to love Gears.

The first game was just like Halo 2 for me. Something my friends and I played endlessly for years. We chased the 10,000 kills achievement for what seemed like forever.

This just makes me meh and kinda wistful and sad.

But....more time for Titanfall.

I feel better now.

Well at the very least, it's nice to see head popping and active reloads come back to multiplayer games.

Looks like Gears.. Surprised how upbeat Jeff is for a new Gears! Hope it is good though, we shall see!

It appears most people here don't like gears that much. I am one of those damn people that got really good at the multiplayer. I'm not an asshole though I swear! Most of the time those two are synonymous.

Looks very underwhelming, though I've never liked the competitive multiplayer in Gears. It's always been about the Horde mode/co-op modes for me.

As a gears mutiplayer fan all I wanted with gears 4 was gears 3 at 60 fps. I get that new players or casual gears players are kinda turned off by what they see since not much has changed. In the end u just gotta accept that there is a certain way to play gears and if it's not for u then it's not for u. There have been 3 gears games already and to think the 4th will be drastically different is just wishful thinking for the non fans.

I'd bet money on it, MS all but said future Xbox exclusives will also hit PC. Hopefully their UWP nonsense will be ironed out by then.

Man, this isn't a pretty game anymore.

It's not as graphically impressive as I expected a new, full Gears to be. I understand this is multiplayer, but I feel like Paragon looks way better with a comparable visual style.

I had a crew back in the day of Gears 2. Tremendous fun with that game. Haven't been able to rekindle that magic since then.

Exactly, maybe it's partially the way the footage was captured, but it looks way too similar to the older games and I mean technically. Even that smoke which gets mentioned by Jeff, if you look at it the effect turns with the camera, sort of like an old sprite! I expected way more, Gears looked absolutely amazing and that was, with great gameplay and interesting universe, why I loved those three games. Looks like this has little inovation on any front, graphics are blend, it's the same enemy design and the gameplay received minor tweaks at best. What a bummer.

EDIT: Also Jeff wears some insane shoes there.
