Jeff plays Halo how I play Halo, except I will spend 10-15 minutes trying to fit every vehicle through every door, one of the reasons I had issues with Halo 4 is they made the vehicles disappear at checkpoints.

BUT... damnit Jeff I wanted to see the transition between space and planet on the space lift scene and you looked away.

Okay, so there is a reason and that is acceptable for a reason why. I bet betting Fillion is expensive for just mocap, so why do it. Thank you.

@mlarrabee: a) Basically you just didn't like where they took the story and that's fine, but none of what you mentioned are actual retcons. b) don't be so mad at 343 for the lore stuff since most of the things you have issue with took place under Bungie's watch.

I had absolutely no interest in playing this until I watched this video. Now I really want it. Maybe I'm just a fool but it looks a lot better than it did in my head.

I'm not too crazy about the look of this game, but not so much that I would get rid of my Xbox One.

Is it just me or does Master Chiefs voice sound weirdly forced?

Huh, I was honestly not expecting the game to look this good, even with stuff I was hesitant about like aiming down the sights. Almost makes me regret being a turncoat this console generation! Almost.

Looks like there's really no interaction with your squadmates outside of reviving. Bummer, especially since the main guy on Republic Commando worked on this.

@r3dt1d3: I'm actually pretty sure there is stuff like telling teammates to focus fire, flank, advance and stay. I feel like I've seen them talk about that in the past. I think Jeff just forgot to use those commands.

Glad I watched this video, I was somewhat skeptical about Halo 5 but having recently got an Xbox One I'm going to dive back in when it releases. I need my Halo fix.

Actually, watching another episode in that web documentary, they did get Nathan in for a bit much earlier in the year. He's got the dots on his face and everything. Maybe Nathan Fillion just sort of has one of those faces? It's a bit square and squat. Or maybe they had to change something but by that time Nathan was unavailable so they just fucked with the graphics a bit.

So excited for this! Campaign looks amazing and I am even more excited for the multiplayer. It will be weird not camping out at a midnight launch for this one (will be downloading digitally). But I am still super excited to see all my old buddies show up online out of nowhere to play this.

It feels too much like Destiny from what I can tell from the video. I'll play it if there'll be a PC version cause I'm not in a hurry but it does look cool.The intro and 'look at how cool you are' moments kinda put me off.

@itwongo: Uh, no. John and his generation of Spartans were taken from their birth parents, and Halsey became the only mother they ever knew. Yeah, that figurehead status is repeated in the books. You interpreting that to mean I thought Halsey literally was the Spartans' mother is really funny.

EDIT: And to everyone else: I don't solely blame 343 for bastardizing the entire story arc. Bungie encouraged and endorsed plenty of that with the book series and their later work. Halo's story started out a very classic, simple one. Then the writers let the success push their heads into their bums, and they forgot that space operas are constructed basically: a strong and theatrical main strand with consistent world filigree to add texture and context.

This has just made me more hyped for this game, the 27th can't come soon enough.

That title screen is dope. Too bad I haven't played a Halo game since Halo 2, because I never owned an Xbox console and I don't plan to get one anytime soon. My Halo experience was PC based and I enjoyed both games.

@pezen: I expected Jeff to mention the visible helmet elements in the top and bottom center, and then complain about it. Once I saw them, I couldn't un-see them. I think they look great, but it became a slight distraction.

This game looks awesome. I can't wait for the money fairy to sprinkle some coin on me so that I can get the console.

Why doesn't every game start with an MDK air drop scene?

I don't think I'll ever understand the appeal of this series.

Graphically, there is SOMETHING missing. Do not know what, but it is missing something for that "wow" factor. I am super excited to play a Halo again, I just have this "launch title" feeling about the presentation and overall gusto of the story (too many spartans now, no more mystique around MC because of overload).
