The problem with the MAKO was never the MAKO. It was the places it put you to drive the MAKO. Ether super narow sky bridges, or super empty beige planets.

@freedom4556: Ya I read the ps3 is the worst version, but like I said I got the entire trilogy for $5. It's also the only version I can play. I was maybe an hour and half in and the whole thing was so stiff and clunky it made me not want to keep playing.

Can't wait for this game. I know there is a lot of hate for BioWare these days for whatever reason but I still love their games. I personally liked Inquisition quite a bit but will admit they need to tighten up there open world structure some. Also can people stop using the term "soulless" when talking about a game! Like how the hell would you know if its soulless or not? You have never played it! And the term in general is dumb because Im pretty sure the people working on the game have busted there ass trying to make a quality product and have put a lot of their "soul" into it.

Yeah... I think I'm gonna skip this and pick up Prey instead. We'll see... I guess the thing is even if it turns out to be a decent shooter it looks like a poor RPG.

@theshrubber: I'm currently replaying through it now as well, The game hasn't aged well but it's still incredibly fun. I've always liked the mako stuff and I still do. That's why I don't like ME2 and ME3 as much as ME1. The Mass Effect series are basically space opera games and yet there's not much actual exploration apart from hopping into stations, planets etc in specific areas and predetermined locations. The mako let you explore about even though most planets were barren and empty wastelands, that's what Mass Effect should be like.

I actually loved Inquisition...played it 3-4 times, did pretty much everything you could do in it. It makes sense to have ME be that type of game - replace exploring continents with planets, your castle with a ship, etc.

I'm 100% on board, really excited. Love me some Bioware characters, hope the new ones can live up to ME & DA's best.

This was a really disappointing video for me. Basically Brad goes through a list of features and then they guess a lot. I would have liked to hear more about what Brad thought of the game instead of the readily available facts. And if the demo he got was so short that he doesn't have anything to say, did this really require a video?

After absolutely hating Inquisition and abandoning it after couple of hours, I'd been really worried about this game. And Brad's assessment only made me more worried. Action seems cool though.

I wonder how good of a starting point this will be to jump into the Mass Effect world? Never played any previous games.

The combat looks cool, but I'm kind of with Jeff that the faces look odd. Don't know how to describe it, but they look off.

As good as any. It's a fresh start with completely new characters, new worlds and a new storyline. The only thing you have to know is that bad shit in the Milky Way was going down, Shepard was the savior, and your crew has been sent to find a new place for human and alien races to colonize a new galaxy.

Have to say the more i see and hear about the game the less interested in it I become There Isn't anything that the game has shown that is yelling at me to buy it, also there are other more interesting games for me that are out before and not long after it's release ie Horizon zero dawn, Nier Automata and Persona 5.

I may pick it up at some point but it's not an essential purchase.

Seeing more Andromeda gameplay is making feel better about the game. I'm glad that it's not all Inquisition and that the gameplay won't be a boring ass MMO style auto-attack facsimile that Inquisition was. I just hope the environments are not vast open wastelands of nothingness like Inquisition and that there are actual meaningful side content.

Considering that this is a Bioware game, the one thing I want to know before I even touch this game is whether or not the main player will definitely get to live at the end of however many games are going to be in this series.

I want to find the person at Bioware who keeps inserting the martyrdom angle into their games and punch him in face.

the emphasis of all coverage (whether produced internally or externally) seems to be on combat- but that's the leastof my concerns when it comes to the mass effect series. ME3 effectively 'solved' the combat IMO- it was solid and fair.

however, in terms of narrative this game continues to show as soulless. maybe they don't want to reveal one iota of story or character (beyond "yo- we got a big bad and asari pals!") for fear of spoiling- but maaan this game had better have interesting character development because that's 95% of the appeal for me.

the original trilogy was flawed- but the strength of characters such as thane, mordin, garrus and legion is a large part of what engendered so much devotion.

if this ends up being ultra-refined mechanics combined with a phoned-in narrative...i think i may skip it (speaking as someone who was dumb enough to s-rank the previous 3).

I think Brad's comparison of Halo 4 to the Halo trilogy is spot on. That is exactly the vibe I'm getting off Andromeda.

I don't see the thing about the characters. Seems like a pretty clear artistic direction rather than them looking bad. Like a few, tiny, steps from realism towards Bioshock Infinite seems like what they're going for. A little little bit toony.

"If you want to you can get all the skills."

So they've pretty much abandoned the idea that choice means anything other than "offer three dialogue options" then?

All i care about is having fun with the adept class. I enjoyed playing these games like a jedi or a sith lord. Using those biotic (force) powers exclusively and only shooting the guns when absolutely necessary. I really hope there is some light saber looking melee weapon.

They keep talking about this like it's the start of a trilogy but i seem to recall reading that it isn't, it will be its own game and have a proper ending.

Definitely going to be a wait and see, especially since I don't have that much time to play games lately and Zelda, Horizon, and Persona all look to be pretty big games. But this does look good, and I am all for another good ME game, even if DA: Inquisition left me with a "meh" feeling in my mouth. Oh and these games being kind of infamous for their DLC plans kind of has me thinking twice too.

As worried as I am about the story in this one - I think this actually makes sense in the context of the series and just in general. I mean, the Turians can't even eat the same food as everyone else, so you'd obviously want them on a different ship.

Plus, if you could so this sort of thing in real life, you'd probably want different cultures mostly on different ships so that each ship shares a common culture, language, command structure, etc.

I dunno, I think it makes sense. Honestly, I'd be more worried about Mac Walters being involved than this.

@the_last_starfighter: It sounded like what Jeff wanted was a clearly present character history. You choose the looks, but the devs choose the name.

*Edit* Does this mean we don't see any Quarian characters in Andromeda? Will we miss that?

I think I'm ready to love again.

I did really enjoy the the original trilogy, but it did collapse under the weight of its own ambition with that pretty dreadful ending (a crime they are guilty of 2/3 games).

Oddly enough I never really thought the combat was any good either, its was very stock, its perfectly serviceable, but not very engaging or deep, I always thought it probably would have benefited more from a system like KOTOR, but to each their own.

The main draw was characterisation and interaction, which it did really well. I've never experienced a greater sense of camaraderie between you the player and your crew in any other game, they sold that so well over 3 games. As mentioned in the video that is going to be the lynch pin for this game too.
