VINNY! Don't run on ridges!

So after watching this vid, I went and bought the game. It's pretty fun, definitely would be a lot better when they do some optimization patches. For instance, my PC is a decent mid-range machine that can play most games without issues (GTX 750ti), yet every round, I have to hang around on the ground for a few minutes for the building textures to load up so I can even enter them, which puts the player at a disadvantage obviously. Apparently this is quite common and the developer should have some patches out soon.

Gameplay-wise, I probably did like six rounds already... I typically survive until I'm within the last 25 or so without many problems. I've shot people but haven't actually killed anyone yet lol. There's a variety of guns, but apparently the best stuff like sniper rifles and LMGs spawn in military buildings more frequently than elsewhere.

We need more of this!

This looks sick as hell. Pretty much what I wanted The Last of Us mp to be. Makes me want to build a PC. I wonder if it'll ever come to consoles.

The idea of this is really cool, but then it always boils down to running around for 30 minutes and then getting instantly gunned down from an unknown direction. I feel like these games need a more arcadey feel to them where you're able to turn on someone and outgun them.

It's on the Unreal engine so they've already said that it should be possible to bring it to consoles, they said they'll probably do it once the PC version is out of early access.

Definitely would watch a "This Is The Run" with Dan & Vinny, the contrast of styles would either be instant gold or a complete trainwreck.. probably both..

Didn't occur to me until reading these comments after watching the video, but yeah this could make a pretty amazing "This is the Run" series.

I feel like this game needs loot like bulletproof shields with durability or something of that sort so that it doesn't just turn into snipe fests in the middle to late game. This lets people run up on houses after the looting phase and gives people a chance even if they get spotted instead of just getting sniped, and they can use shotguns and pistols more.

I'd pay money to watch Vinny and Alex play a lot more of this. This is tapping into Vinny's prepper tendencies so hard.

Man it's stressing me out when Vinny is only looking at things close by when he should be scanning for enemies. This would make a great This Is The Run.

Ha add me to the group shouting at the screen! Watching Vinny run along those ridges never looking left or right, Vinny opening doors to enter houses without equipping the shotgun first, Vinny entering the house and immediately looking at the floor for loot and not checking to see if there was anybody in the house.......Oh and Vinny sneaking around until he found the boat and deciding to fire it up thereby making a racket anybody could hear! Loved it.

Since the plane flies in a straight line I wonder if it would be sound tactics to pop your chute early and try to angle off to the side of the flight path thereby getting to a less populated area.

I'm with everyone else, THIS IS THE RUN please! I'll buy another subscription just for that feature... (who am I kidding, GB has pretty much replaced television for me so I'm pretty much already hooked for life anyway)

Also, there was a squad mode and duo mode. How big is the the squads in the squad mode? And if you team up do you all skydive in tandem? Or do you have to like, coordinate and find each other? Cause if you have to try and locate each other that sounds kind of impossible...

God, a squad mode with the whole GB crew playing would be incredible.

I want this game but with cartoony graphics and a Windwaker HD remake cellshaded aesthetic. I'm not sure why.

This was great! If they're up for it I'd love to see them play it again.

The actual game though seems really neat! I never really got into these games other than the DayZ mod days for a bit, but I will keep my eye on this. It seems like it has much more digestible play sessions.

On a related note, how is DayZ these days?

I initially dissed this because of the name, but seeing that it's basically an unlicensed Battle Royale: The Move: The Game made me very happy.

There are very few snipers in the actual game, I've found. The sniper rifles (or scopes for assault rifles) are all rare, some only accessible from supply drops. I've never even seen a ghillie suit yet. On top of that, it's just not practical to sit around and snipe people. Everybody is always on the move, mostly because of the dead zone mechanic, so you really risk people sneaking up on you.

There are 3 levels of body armour, backpacks and helmets. They are easily found by scavenging and really make a difference. Shotguns are the most useful weapon for combat in buildings, and you can also put a choke on them for better use outside. Melee weapons are next to useless however, and pistols become obsolete the moment people start picking up rifles and shotguns.

This was a super fun QL. I agree with Alex, if Let it Die was like this I'd be more into it.

then I saw that you can go with squads, so I watched a video of a squad

and it was fucking depressing watching some guy with no weapons just get gunned down instantly by 5 esports assholes

like I said earlier, players ruin any sense of fun that online games could have

that and aim bots ... which if you don't think aim bots exist for every game, you're wrong

Aw, this was a great QL. I haven't played this style of game before and assume I'd be absolutely awful at it, but seeing Vinny play, I might actually give this one a shot for shits and giggles.

Would love more of this if the GBeast crew are interested in playing some. Quite enjoyed the stress!

Played the ARMA BR mod way back when. Saw this. Bought the game.
Haven't been doing anything else ever since.

Well, I mean, you don't have to play the mode with all the squads.

What it really sounds like is you don't like shooters. Especially on PC.

I want to see Vinny get more familiar with the game. Hiding around is fun but getting out and killing people seems like more fun

Looks like one of the slightly more fleshed out of the Battle Royale kind of game. I'd like to see the guys do more stuff with this.
