E3 unfinisheds (sic?), now i've seen everything.

I'll be holding back at least a year till we get the inevitable "Super/Ultra" edition. I know it's an old joke but I felt really burned by buying vanilla SF4 on launch only to be behind a few months later. Not gonna let that happen this time. To the rest of ya, enjoy it and let us know how it is!

Excited for more SF. Even more excited since they announced cross play between PS4 and PC. Now I don't have to bother getting a new stick.

Oh shit, I splurged on a SF TE and SE stick but didn't play all that much, yet I feel the urge to do it all over.

I'm not the only one who really loves the soundtrack to this game, am I? Desperately want a mp3 of the music played in that China (?) stage.

@mrmazz: I've heard it takes place chronologically after 3, but I'm not sure that came from an official source.

For what it's worth Chun has always been the police chief of Boobtown (except in games where it's limited by sprite fidelity). I think this game just goes a little further because of what appears to be modeled nipples similar to the way that Cammy's navel appears to be modeled so it comes off really aggressively. Which I agree is pretty silly.

I want Q SO BAD. My cousin would be excited if R. Mika was in as well. So I'm hoping for both.

Im kinda surprised at how good this looks. I really like the direction they are going with everything!

If by a few months you mean over a year, then ok. I can't say I've ever understood the backlash with this. It wasn't full price and it added 10 new characters. That's a pretty meaningful update I'd say. Then the Arcade Edition and Ultra updates were only $15 I think, and they both had content to justify those prices. Would people prefer Capcom not support their games with more content down the line? Who would that serve? People can wait 3 or 4 years for the final version if they want, but I'll enjoy playing every iteration of SFV as it evolves.

13 months is more than "a few". The updates come out once a year, and for what it's worth if you want to wait for the "definitive version" of Street Fighter 5 you should keep in mind that USF4 came out just last year (5 years after vanilla SF4 was released for home consoles).

@darbish: Yeah, I just realized that I let my anger over countless versions being released mess up my actual ability to tell when. My apologies. Not being sarcastic, by the way. I meant that I felt robbed by paying full price for the game only for bigger better versions to be released later on.

The animation reminds me of claymation which creeps me the fuck out. I'm sure I'll get used to it but... *shudder*

@unastrike@jeff I liked the style of this video. Sometimes the QL and Unfinished players have difficulty talking while playing, but this was nice because you guys were talking over a recording of the gameplay. Don't know if that works for other games, but here it worked really well. Thanks

@neozeon: That's a really weird thing to say for a competitive fighter, you didn't feel like you got any value from SF4 for Vanilla? I know I played that shit for hundreds of hours before I even thought of another version possibly coming out...

@sully907: Me personally? No, I felt like it didn't have enough single-player wise to justify a full price. I know, I know, it's all about multiplayer or whatever but it just felt lacking to me. Also, though I should have known better, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was only playing a portion of the full game. Turned out to be right, sadly, and the announcement of new versions just killed any remaining enthusiasm I had. Didn't help that the same exact trick happened with MvC3...which I also fell for.

Best I can put it is this way: I hope people like yourselves get a ton of mileage out of it and it's great for you. For people like me who don't get much time to play games, especially competitive fighters like this, I can't justify dropping full price on something that will undoubtedly be offered with more features for less money later on. I just end up feeling burned and it sours the game for me as a result.

@neozeon: Fair enough, the single player content in that game was defintiely lacking. Playing MK9 a couple of years later really puts that terrible single player story and cutscenes into perspective.

I for one can't wait to see Birdie on Hot Pepper Gaming.

(And that is indeed a big doughnut. Fat Uncle Birdie is the best.)
