So, lots of people in chat said the Romero wad just isn't compatible with vanilla Doom, but Brad did play it that last week without it crashing, the reason he switched to Zandronum then was that he didn't like Doom's default controls with arrow key movement, so it's pretty weird that it suddenly didn't work this week. I wonder if the DosBox setup he used this week wasn't quite set up correctly?

@drewbert @unastrike I don't mean to harp on about it, but you're still capturing the wrong video levels for your PC footage, resulting in a washed-out image.

Ever since you moved to the new studio the levels have been 16-235 instead of 0-255.

There are two possibilities for this:

1. The PC is set up to output a "Limited Range" 16-235 signal, instead of instead of a "Full Range" 0-255 signal. This can be configured in the video card's control panel. With NVIDIA, this is set in the resolution section of the control panel. (though you should also check that you have video playback, in the "video" section set to 0-255 as well)
2. The PC is outputting 0-255, and some point in your processing/capture stage is compressing this to 16-235. This seems unlikely, but it's possible.

Buying Amibos is like buying a Battlefield shortcut pack, only more proportionally expensive, and you get to have a chuck of plastic in your house. Honestly, it's totally genius while being totally evil.

@brad EDIT: Doom's visplane error is due to the game overrunning its 128 unique visible level architecture texture limit. Vanilla Doom should be the only version with the problem, since every source port claims to have fixed it. Source port Boom is confirmed fixed, and it was designed to run as close to vanilla as possible. And it was written to run under MS-DOS, although it was later ported to Windows proper.
