When Brad said 40 dollars wasn't that much I... Well now I have a lot more legendary skins. That was the exact right thing to say to convince me to buy some boxes.

I bought a 50 pack'o loot chests after watching Danny O'Dwyer open 50 on a stream Gamespot did. It was pretty great. Got like 4 legendary skins and had enough credits to buy 2 more, a lot of lesser neat stuff too. Still wouldn't recommend it since now this niggling itch to open a bunch of lootboxes wont go away..

@themasterds: Yeah man, it's like only the price I payed for the game in the first place, I can just pretend I got the extra fancy 50 Lootbox Edition!

The skins arent "monitized", you can buy everything with currency and by playing.

Too bad you guys didnt actually play Overwatch -_-

The loot crate bit was pretty boring, to be honest. I know it was like 3-1 on the poll in favour, but still.. Would have rather seen some game playing..

I am really loving Hitman.... I did the elusive target today and...

I went in as the deliveryman disguise [perhaps the most OP of the disguises there for the grounds. No one can ID you since you are a deliveryman from outside, and you are free to walk pretty much the whole outdoor grounds. I saw the congressman walk by as I came in. After he left I walked over to his path, placed a prox mine around the corner. I went and then left and then waited by the car outfront till it said I killed him. I had no idea that would actually work but was great XD.

I haven't actually watched UPF here though, just saw for a moment they were doing it. I have to say some of my favorite content on the site is the hitman, both the elusive targets on UPF and the other vids on it!! So much fun.

please someone spoil me, did brad actually beat the hitman target this time?

Technically no. You have to buy randomized loot boxes with real money, then hope there are skins in there. Or hope you get enough credits in those boxes to buy a skin.

Dan did give a lot of bad suggestions during the Hitman segment, but the chef thing wasn't his fault. Brad took forever to kill him and only did it right when they were leaving the hidden area.

This. Like, who the hell demanded to watch someone open 50 loot boxes, specially when there's nothing exciting coming out of them.

If people wanted to watch that, they could just go to GameSpot, they did the exact same thing a few days ago (they also did videos of pretty much everything that can be done about Overwatch, they're like OverwatchSpot, the only thing they have left to do is a ranking of characters based on their body temperature).

Madmen is the furthest thing from boring. It's just made for people who have an attention span longer than a minute.

@christophercles: I enjoyed Overwatch during the beta, but felt like I had played enough of it after it was over. It's fun but eventually gets super repetitive, especially once you find the heroes you like.

Technically, you are correct. You cannot directly buy skins with real-world money, so you could say that the skins themselves aren't monetized. But Blizzard allowing you to purchase the only items that contain these skins, along with skins being the biggest cosmetic goal among most of the playerbase, I would say that skins are definitely monetized. Though (slightly) indirectly.

Just a note for next time, you can switch up the fiberwire and coin for any other item you want when you plan the mission in Hitman.

Jeff just made me buy $40 in chests for overwatch man what you get for the price is WAY better than when i spent $40 in hearthstone.

Time is money and you need time to level up. It's monetized.

Overwatch looks awesome. I think I may get it tomorrow, but I really can't justify the buying of those chests. I mean if you look at the actual drop rates of those items, it is a joke just by the samples seen. I think it is cool for just earning them as you go, but to pay extra for those seems crazy.

However, I have to commend them I think [so far] they did make a game that while those things are there, and unlike a lot of their FTplay games, the microtransactions do seem entirely unnecessary, and you actually can get those at a fair clip [even at the exp per level cap later on]. This of course makes me feel even more that it is silly to buy those, and if they did adjust the rates or suddenly have special loot only boxes, or reduce the rates to incentivize buying them I would quickly stop playing the game entirely. Seriously that and the Dota stuff [which is especially rotten] is basically a form of gambling for any age.
