I thought this meant that Vinny would be playing the PC Engine exclusive Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, which is fucking excellent. But hey, I admire the dedication to beating through the series (or maybe just the first game) proper.

I'd like to take the opportunity, while someone is playing the original Castlevania, to remind people that saying metroidvania is heresy, HERESY! Castlevania 2 borrowed the Metroid formula and added nothing, NOTHING, to the genre that Metroid didn't already had. Those games are Metroidlike, Metroidish, Metroidal, Metroiids, but they sure have no vania to them, in them, about them or around them, no vania anywhere, A-NY-WHERE!!! /rant

That makes sense, but if that were the case, the second part of the video should be "VinnyVania: Castlevania - Part 04 vs. the PC Engine - Part 01, Part 02" or "VinnyVania: Castlevania - Part 05 vs. the PC Engine - Part 02", but definitely not what it's actually named, "VinnyVania: Castlevania - Part 04 vs. the PC Engine - Part 02"

Really disappointed to see a return to the multiple game format - I thought they learned that lesson.

I can't watch Jeff play Die Hard and Vinny play Castlevania at the same time. All you have done is isolate Vinny from the group and the conversation - we don't even hear his game audio, he may aswell not be there.

If you didn't feel Castlevania was interesting enough for another show - skip it, use a save state to get to Dracula.

Also Brad is bad at games, and iPhone apps.

Jeff's got the coolest stuff. I wish I lived in Jeff's family because then I could play with cool stuff all day!

Seriously, though, good call on the PC Engine. I love you, Vinny, but your feature is dragging. I wouldn't be surprised if people forgot why you started.

I'd watch a playthrough of The Legendary Axe. Game looked awesome.

@jynxdaddy: It's because people don't want to see the 4th 2-3 hour long playthough of the same game, and the GB crew wanted to actually get it over with. It's a win/win. If you want to watch Vinny play Castlevania, you have three other videos dedicated to it, and you had the video feed of his playthrough this entire video. This is for the sanity of the rest of us.

Man. As much as I enjoy them playing older games it kinda sucks that Vinny's thing has just been hijacked by everyone else. I don't really want to watch Jeff and Brad play Bomberman when Vinny is playing Castlevania. You never get Breaking Brad with a side of Windjammers.

Kinda sucks that after literally days of trying to beat Dracula it finally happens with no audio on a side screen - but still, congrats to Vinny for finally nailing it.

Please no. People remember the good shows (Dead Island, Fortune Street etc.), but most shows were just boring imo. Watching someone play the latest shooter online is no fun.

I would be all for an occasional show where the crew play multiplayer games against each other, maybe tournament style. But TNT as a weekly feature was a lot more miss than hit.

@viking_funeral: The axe and the knife does not drop from any of the candles leading up from the final checkpoint to Dracula so you can't use them unless you brought them from earlier in the stage. There's no way to go back to the beginning of the final level once you've reached the final checkpoint either.

Their only real advantage over the cross would be that it would be easier to hit Dracula without also hitting the holy water candle, so limiting the items in the final area to those two was probably a concious choice by the developers.
