One of my favorite things about this game is just how many things can make you overpowered. My favorites being a shield that does insane damage and just being able to turn into mist and float around a boss until they die.

I really hope they do the inverted castle.

They could check out the bad ending by going straight to Dracula, its fun to see. But thats not really the end :p, so imo they should do inv castle. Especially if this is the last game in this series.

Ah well, at least the save hiccup at the beginning just let us listen to that great cave music again.

They said they would "consider" it, but honestly there would be hell to pay if they didn't. I think they're under the impression that the inverted castle is something you grind your way through and that it's a New Game Plus kind of thing, just the same thing a second time. Not sure they realize it's new bosses and everything.

The "rod" series of weapons feel sooo good in this game. Shield rod's overrated, I love the moon rod. I mean, shield rod special moves are overpowered, sure, but you can always just soul steal if you want to be overpowered.

Also c'mon chat, tell Vinny about holding Up after doing hellfire! That's actually fun. He doesn't really need to know where to go that much.

Transition of the Night. New VV, its a great way to kick start the weekend.

They're so impressed with the Shield rod now, I can't wait til they get ALucard's Shield!

There are a lot of really good ones - the Hitman episodes are up there - but VinnyVania is my favorite too :D

I never expected them to find the cow, but I'm so glad they did - and even glad-er that Alex called it.

Also what the hell, wonder why the fairy didn't sit on his shoulder. I thought it only took 30 sec or so to happen - maybe a weird thing with the 360 version?

I know this isn't about the content of the video, but hot damn, @alex is a national treasure. I don't know if it's teaming with Vinny or what, but that dude is amazing.

I wish they'd stop consulting the chat. On the one hand, Vinny seems to give up on exploring an area RIGHT AS or RIGHT BEFORE something interesting is on-screen, but I think Alex's advice is good enough to prompt Vinny to discover things that he otherwise would've missed.

The problem with the chat for me is the wording. Hug the left side of the waterfall room? Why not tell Vinny to try jumping as far to the left as possible from the very top of the waterfall? I don't think he'd have made it with just the double jump, but he would've had a better chance of seeing what was up there had their directions been clearer. Look for the shelf above the librarian? How about telling him to look for platforms above and to the left of the stairs near the librarian? Jesus.

Not to mention even suggesting that Vinny go to the library before having mist in this episode. Such a waste.

Alex is on point with his groan-worthy references in this one.

Where did that second save file come from? They did die right before getting the snorkel, but they never made a second save file or anything between that and saving after they got it. I was so confused by that intro.

Alex rally needs to work on how he uses the chat. After they got the mist he was letting Vinny explore just fine and then Vinny asked if there was any other mist spots, and he quotes chat that he needs to go to the library.He could have just said there was a mist spot in the library, but for the most part that was fine. After that though he just kept going. "The next thing you need to get is in the library" "go to the library next" "The bat form is in the library" and finally "Chat says go to the library, drop what your doing and go there." Just let him explore man, you can nudge him in certain directions from chat suggestion, but for the most part this episode he was just directing Vinny around.

Wtf, in the last episode you guys did get the snorkel and everything and you saved it. Now theres 2 save games? Spooky

Do they end up returning for the purse?

I don't understand why some games they play through insisting on no outside help (Shenmue) and some games they play through as basically a guided experience (this). You can make arguments for and against both, but it seems so arbitrary.

I'm not getting the vibe from Vinny that they'll want to do the inverted castle. They should though, it's the best part of the game! The normal castle is but a warm up.

I wish Alex wasn't looking at the chat so much or at all.

Just look at the map and go where there are holes in the wall and let Vinny explore.

But oh well.

If you look at the ending of Episode 3, near 1:27:08, you can see that Vinny cancels the "Overwrite data?" prompt but accepts the following "Wish to save?" prompt. That's where that second save comes from.

That's the Fairy that does that. This is the Faerie.

(No, seriously. The Fairy is only in the PSP version, though.)

@gregalor: No, he literally answered your question. Guess I will answer it again. This was a live stream recorded when people were watching and is a series that doesn't follow a fixed schedule. Shenmue was recorded in bulk. By the time episode one went up, the entire thing was taped. It was made to be put up daily. It's a production thing and the exact opposite of arbitrary.

Plus, it is a no one situation. When they don't look at chat or respond to it then people will complain about that. It seems hard to strike a balance.

I think it's a net positive. There is basically zero chance they would ever find something like the snorkel on their own. It's not like Alex can divine the exact right time to look at the chat to get tips for something they would have otherwise missed, so they have to go through it all.

Chat will take a stab at Alex for an offhand comment about gravity but can't give specific info about puzzles and destinations :P

I think I missed the joke about the purse... I don't get it, and I feel stupid haha.

I totally understand asking chat for help or pointers but having chat basically walk them through it is disappointing. Getting lost and not knowing where to go is one of the best parts of this game for me. I wish they would spend some time just exploring. Still enjoying watching them play this though. I love this game and am very happy to see them playing it.
