Liking the new cold open

Looking forward to watching this, but I would like to see a future stream feature a bunch of songs Alex doesn't like or hasn't played yet or played much at all. Stuff that's out of his comfort zone in this game.

Finally got to see one live, it's always a good time hanging out with some Alex Drumming!

Biggest issue with getting paid on streaming services is if you have a bum record deal with a label where the label takes a larger cut of streaming revenue than on physical albums (or radio where in America ALL the money goes to the writer and nothing to anyone else). If you release yourself you usually get a much better cut. Especially older record deals were absolutely horrible for streaming and the label often took pretty much all the money.

The video for Ghost - Cirice allways reminds me of when some class mates "performed" (mimed to) the entirety of Candlemass - The Sorcerer's Pledge in a Christmas show in 5th grade. All the parents and teachers being forced to listen to 10 minutes of Doom Metal was glorious.

The fact that there's only one ghost song in RB is sad.

@antivanti: In Year 4 (10 years old), my class did a school performance (miming) where one of the songs was KISS’ Black Diamond, with homemade costumes, wigs and face paint. I got to be Gene Simmons simply because I was able to do the tongue-flicking half decently.

I haven't been watching these streams (I click around to sample what was played), but I love that long ass Rock Band streams have become an Alex staple. Seems like such a fun way to practice while giving the folks at home a playlist to check out.

Guitar Hero III with a pick went a long way with helping my rhythm and ability to shred (seriously) and I kind of wish I had stayed with RB after all these years to keep my basic drumming skills alive.

On the subject of Black Album tour shows I wish I had seen, a friend says he went to their show in Pittsburgh in 91. They asked the crowd if they “want[ed] to hear half of a shitty song”, then played part of “Man In A Box”. I don’t know what beef they had with Alice in Chains, but it would be very fun to witness that kind of pettiness in person.

@allthedinos: I believe it was just a joke, and the bands were friends. Still funny though.

@overtone: That’s good, although I feel the world needs more inexplicable musician beef.
