I feel that there needs to be a comment for prosperity that in August 2020, Smash Mouth were a bunch of freaking idiots.

Listening to the song, I actually thought it wasn't too bad. Way better than I was expecting, anyway. Then I looked up the band on Spotify and this is their bio:

craft hook-filled teen pop that blends the polished grit of pioneering girl groups like the Go-Go's and the Bangles with the wide-eyed wonder of contemporary pop groups like the Cheetah Girls and the Jonas Brothers.

And now I hate them.

Good God, I haven't heard any new All That Remains stuff. They sure have gone from "actually pretty good metalcore" in The Fall of Ideals to the most generic, indistinguishable whatever metal they possibly could have. What the hell happened?

I look at that playlist and man this seems like a good one! Echo & The Bunnymen, Interpol, Frank Turner, The Clash, Radiohead, Nirvana and St Vincent? Okay!

edit: haha Alex' face when Morrissey popped up.

No respect for the guy, and the message of that song is crappy, but i still like how it sounds. One more absolute jam from a musician that turned out to be a turd.

@alex

Radiohead did indeed have a long period where they straight up weren't playing Creep anymore. But around 2017 when they were headlining Glastonbury they did include it here and there, including at Glastonbury itself. But yeah, they have an audience that is quite well tuned in with their discography so they don't have to include all their hits in a set. Generally speaking i always got the sense that Creep was one of the songs that the fanbase didn't care for all that much. A neat rarity, not a top tier song.

THAT'S All That Remains? The heck happened? I loved the initial 3-pack of ATR songs in Rock Band way back when.

Is there anywhere that @alex has posted more details about his setup? I ask because I thought what he's using is an Ion drum kit for Rock Band 4 on an Xbox One (basing it off of button prompts on the screen). But looking at the compatibility chart from Harmonix that shouldn't be possible? Or I'm misunderstanding something there.

I've been getting back into Rock Band a lot more and have started looking into putting in the money to update my setup from Rock Band Pro Drums on the 360 right now to possibly some sort of Ion/MIDI drum set for the Xbox On with Rock Band Rivals.

And sorry to Alex for tagging him but figure he may know the answer to this as well. Thanks for all the drumming! It's part of the impetus for me to get back into it (and definitely envious over the total amount of songs so I started buying up new songs, too).

@wibblewozzer: It's a custom setup that someone delivered to Alex at the NY office via a mailbag. There's a mailbag video out there when he gets it, but I don't recall what details were discussed in terms of what he's specifically using. I know for sure it isn't an Ion kit though, this much I can tell you.

Judging just from the looks, I think it's an Alesis kit.

@heatdrive88: Thanks for the reply. I was able to find the mailbag video. Unfortunately the person that made the kit doesn't appear to have made a making of video. It did at least give me a little more info so I may have some ideas on getting things set up using this info and some of the other stuff I've seen online from others.

Thanks!

I work with a guy that went to the concert in New Castle. Said it was a good time, but it was in an set in an open field and one of their local bands performed. Small world, really.

@wibblewozzer I believe the kit was put together by @dumo who has a series of blogs about how it was created.

@mrhappy-pants: Thanks. I went to his profile recently but didn't think to click on blog as I don't really use most community feature stuff here. That looks to be exactly what I was needing! I won't be doing something similar in the immediate future but this looks to be a project in coming months perhaps.

My god, that Opiate for the Masses song sounds like an actual Dekkar (or DKR) song.. They're even singing about an "empty bottle".
