Really hoping the make a good World of Darkness game again

Every time I go to play Hitman 3, the Epic store shoves this game into my face. And it looks terrible. Everything about this looks like an xbox 360 game.. I don't understand what this is.

Not for 40 dollars I don't think.

Yup, that's a B game. Not saying it looks like a masterpiece, but not gonna shit on it just because it doesn't look like a bazillion-dollar AAA game. Would give it a shot if it was on Gamepass at least.

This Animorph game looks wack

This looks like a 360 era game that looked and felt like a PS2 era game.

I'm far from the first person to say it, but looks like a PS2 game that got lost in time. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I think I'll give it a miss...

E: Also Rorie mentions you rip apart dudes but you kinda don't, they just spray out ludicrous amounts of blood and go ragdolling.

Holy shit, they finally made a Werewolf: TA game that's not a (by all accounts, very good) visual novel! I remember when White Wolf tried made a similar attempt back in...1998? '99? But the tech wasn't there yet.

As a B-class game, this seems totally fine. If it manages to nail the setting well enough, I'd probably pick it up - certainly not at $40, but perhaps if/when it gets a sale. (Also, the wolf form seems to move REALLY squirrelly. :b)

EDIT: @unastrike Sounds like the other game you were trying to think of (in which the player could play as werewolves and...were...bunnies...) is the Bloody Roar series?

It's such a weird thing to see this on the storefronts with this title, but to have a manly man angry military dude as the main character. It's a weird juxtaposition.

Big McLargeHuge is the worst kind of bald, hunky manslab, too. Totally generic in the mid-2000s kinda way right down to his "tragic" "backstory".

reminds me of that Punisher game on PS2 and I kinda like that. I'll wait a few weeks til it's 19 bucks

Watching this makes me wish they made a new BLOODY ROAR game. That game was the best. 1 and 2 are so good.

I'd play the hell out of this when it goes on sale. Very much enjoyed the Styx games for the nice stealth games they are

Bloody Roar 3 was great, too! BR4 contined to refine the gameplay, but went a little off the rails with an arcane "customize your own moveset" mechanic and absolutely horrible, cluttered, inscrutable UI that just crammed as much plain text on screen as it possibly could.

And they say B-games don't exist anymore.

The werewolf sequence in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines was so damn good. We desperately need more great World of Darkness games.

I was looking forwards to this as something that I'd maybe pick up heavily discounted at some point, because mauling people as a werewolf sounds like a good enough time even if janky, but somehow I'd missed that this was made by Cyanide. So maybe when it's a PS+ game or free on Epic? Maybe.

Just to clarify for anyone confused, the publisher of this game is Nacon, the company previously known as Big Ben Interactive. They are a Maker of B games and competitor to Focus Home Interactive, maybe best known as the publisher of Spiders’ and CI Games’ games. The developer is Cyanide, a studio known for their long running cycling game series but also makers of Styx and the recent Call of Cthulhu game. They were associated with Focus until Nacon purchased them.

Edit: Also thought I would add for @unastrike, vampires would rarely go toe to toe with a werewolf in WOD lore. Werewolves are significantly more powerful than a standard vampire. An elder vampire who has lived for hundreds of years? They pretty much wreck almost anything but even older vampires. While Caine and his more direct descendants who have lived for thousands of years can easily take down whole packs of werewolves without breaking a sweat. But in fiction there are at most like 20 such vampires in existence and they spend most of their time in hibernation.

But the average vampire would never, ever, fight a werewolf. In fact, most wouldn't know that werewolves even exist. The whole point of The Masquerade is that lower rank vampires know as little as possible. They, alongside Hunters and Mages, likely know little more about werewolves than the average human being. Those that are made aware of werewolves are told to flee from a werewolf and to never engage it head on.

Werewolves do consider vampires natural enemies as werewolves protect the environment and vampires are masters of the urban jungle. But it is fairly easy to make more vampires, while werewolves must be born from a human/werewolf pairing or a wolf/werewolf pairing, and even then the werewolf trait is passed on only very rarely. So there are like 10,000 werewolves at most on Earth while there are probably closer to 1 million vampires. But the vampires view a battle with werewolves as too costly in most cases, and are therefore happy to leave them be. In the rare instances where they do need to engage werewolves in combat they would likely sacrifice a large number of young vampires to allow an elite team of snipers to approach unnoticed and then attempt to take out the werewolves with a single well placed silver bullet. This would likely take out all but the most powerful of werewolves who would then likely have to be taken out by an Elder Vampire Lord and his elite guard.

Man, I love love love the Werewolf franchise. It was never quite as popular as the super-emo Vampire: The Masquerade, but has a very cool vibe all it's own.

Unfortunately this looks like.... a super mediocre game? At 40 bucks I might give it a look but I'm put off by Cyanide Studios' track record as kind of a crap factory.

Looks like an alright B-game. 40 bucks is about right, especially if there are no microtransactions.

It's so funny to me seeing how wildly different this is to the Heart of the Forest game.
