@jeff: future reference since you're a Lifeline main: you can push the healbot as you walk. So if someone is looting outside of its reach, you can move it to them.

Thanks for doing some MMO stuff again. I love them and they're just so chill to watch. Wish streaming was huge back in the early WoW days, would have loved to see the GameSpot crew joyously deteriorate over a number of months as the pizza box stacks grew ever higher.

If Jan starts playing through FFXIV for the site (which would be awesome!) I hope he does it this way.

And if Jeff gets into it too they only need 1 more for a GB party.

@knoxt: Eh I'd say level 30 is barely scratching the surface, which is probably why it's all free for the trial version. Even at launch, when the level cap was 50, level 30 is just where it started to pick up, at least in terms of combat. You get your "advanced job" with enough skills that it isn't completely dull and they start introducing actual mechanics to the dungeons so you aren't just standing there and punching in one spot. It wasn't until you hit 50 and had an actual array of skills that usually involved some sort of complex (or less complex depending on job) rotation.

Unfortunately, they designed the progression as if the person had never played any video game in their life it seems. If someone had prior experience with MMOs, the early game will seem extremely boring.

But people also need to understand that an MMO is about the long haul, and there is no rush. It shouldn't take a person too long to get to 50 assuming they are willing to invest the time. You can't play for only a couple hours a week and expect to get anywhere fast.

And I typically advise against the skip potions because the story is the main draw of the game, and if you're skipping it, then wtf are you even doing here. Not to mention you'll probably be overwhelmed with all the skills at lvl 50.

@minipato: Yeah I've done a little matchmaking and it's good for sure. I just don't think I have it in me to play with people I don't know. If I could coerce three friends to play with me, maybe I'd get back into it, but I don't see that happening.

Honestly, though, watching this stream just makes me want to start another new character (I already played one through to 50 DRG + a decent chunk of a bunch of side classes and 50 Goldsmithing, and then later started a completely fresh new character on a different server and got a few different classes up to around the 20-35 mark). I think I kinda just want that super chill grinding experience, wandering about doing quests, FATEs, and Leves. The actual dungeons ARE super cool, but I'm not sure I really fancy dealing with them right now.

Awesome, chill stream. Would love to see Jan play more FF14. I have zero interest in ever touching it but those mounts look so adorable. And seeing Jeff win the Apex game makes me want to finally sit down and give it a real shot.

On one hand I would also like to see Jan stream more FFXIV but on the other hand if every video is gonna be a crowd of viewers following him and one shotting everything it's gonna make for a dull experience IMO

EDIT: Also if you're gonna follow them around in FF14, let them get into trouble and make mistakes, the moron player killing everything before they get the chance to have any fun fighting stuff was a bummer.

It should be obvious that if you're there as a fan to watch, don't interfere their gameplay. Unless you're there simply to be a pointless nuisance.
