Glad you guys are playing this some, was wondering when something might be done with it given the whole epidemic situation.

Been playing this hard since it came out last week. My physical copy actually came a day early from Amazon, first time that's ever happened to me. Finished the first playthrough, just starting the NG+ mode.

I'm pleased so far about some of the quality of life changes. For instance, you can now check how many hot springs and locks of hair you've collected for each mission, so there's no more ambiguity there. They also added a scaling option at end-game so that you need not worry about sub-par loot dropping from lower-level missions.

And of course the burst counter and yokai powers stuff is cool. It really changes the overall feel of the gameplay in what I think is a good way.

I came here for some fast-paced violence, but oh my god, that intro.

God, I'm loving this game, even if all the systems are a bit extra.

Tip for that first boss if you're having trouble - tag the scampuss that's down the stairs before the dark realm area and bring him into the boss arena with you. He'll attack the boss and recharge your anima at the same time. This fight is pretty much designed to force you to learn how to use your burst counters and yokai abilities to drain a boss' stamina, so a constant stream of anima really helps.

Thank you much for showing off Nioh 2. I've heard it can be hard, and the extra system(s) added are mostly, but not all liked.

I beat Nioh 1, so I am going to give it a try.... but I still haven't loaded up Sekiro yet.

@cyrusraven: Same here, I was dual swords guy last game but now the Odachi is my go to. I'm currently using a really nice gold Spiderblood Blade and I can see myself upgrading this till I find something better. No Clue how many hours I've put into it so far but it is pretty good. Going to play around with the switch glaive a bit more to see if I like it but the Odachi Over head smash is such a guard breaking monster.

Played and finished the first one. Never was into the art style of this game, everything looks boring and dull. Happy they made a sequel for the people who didn't get enough of the first one. I'm not going to bother with this one though.

Wasn’t there a dude saying he was unsubscribing because of the lack of Nioh 2 coverage? Egg on his face.

I wasn't able to click with the first Nioh, I think I made it to halfway the second map. The combat was fun and the stances were interesting, but the enemy variety was not there and I really wasn't into the loot, seemed to me like an unnecesary layer.

I'm still curious about the sequel, because even if I wasn't engaged enough to finish it, it still was a great game. Seems like the combat is essentially the same, so maybe they had more time to flesh out the enemy and level design. So if this released on PC I may check it out eventually.

I got roughly halfway through the first game before quitting for all of the reasons you quit.

In Nioh 2, I'm halfway through the second map, and so far the enemy variety has been better. They've done a good job of adding new enemies. Pretty much every main mission will introduce a new type of yokai. And all of them feel pretty different in terms of move set, which is cool. The exception is the normal human enemies, because you can just stunlock them to death so I never really get a sense for their attacks.

In terms of level design, it feels about the same. I haven't been super impressed. There's only really been 1 level that I felt was pretty cool. Everything else has been caves, forests, and burned down towns that all feel pretty similar.

I didn't play Nioh until the last few months but thoroughly enjoyed it. The loot system and cost to upgrade stuff wasn't great, but even with limited enemy variety I stuck with it to the end. I'm not sure I can jump right in to this without some fatigue, so I'll circle back around to it after the onslaught of the next few months. Really looking forward to it.

Incredible! Griffin is great. A positive with all this working from home is an insight into the crews family life. Really neat.

I played a bunch of the first game on pc, and dug the combat quite a bit. I picked this up on ps4, crossing my fingers that the console downgrade wouldn't kill it, and so far i've been super happy with a stable framerate and pretty good load times. I've only played for a couple hours, but i didn't run into any issues on the first couple horse demons; they must be a lot easier to deal with with an axe.
