Overview
Shufflepuck Cantina is a sci-fi air hockey game developed and published by Agharta Studio for iOS devices on August 30, 2012. It was later released for Android devices in April 2013 (although it was later delisted) and was later published digitally via Steam for the PC, Mac, and Linux on December 5, 2013 as Shufflepuck Cantina Deluxe.
A spiritual successor to the 1988-1989 game Shufflepuck Café, Shufflepuck Cantina builds on the first-person gameplay of the original with a "sci-fi Western" theme heavily influenced by Star Wars.
Players control an astronaut who crash lands on the desert planet Athanor and enters an intergalactic casino. In order to return home, they must earn money through games of Shufflepuck and buy parts for their spaceship.
Unlike the original game, this game makes use of random power-ups, mallet shapes, a progression system, and currency. The mobile versions are free-to-play (through both in-game advertisements and microtransactions), while the Steam version is premium. It later received limited VR support.
