    so i ran my laptop and  =(      how bad or can i even run it? 
        
     CPU
    amd  v120 
     
    CPU SPEED
    2.19ghz 
     
    RAM
    1.7 gb  (planning on adding more)

    You can probably chug along at default settings with a lower resolution than your screen size. It still looks okay.

    one of the key bits of info is missing... video card... w/ a good card in that laptop you'll be able to play...  
     
    (that cpu is normally in a budget laptop... so my guess would be shtty video card (ie, don't even try)... hopefully i'm wrong) 
     
    but.. get the demo! don't guess about if you can run it

    Nope. That processor is single core and Civ V needs at least dual.

    You'll have major major issues.  I've got a AMD Turion X2 @ 2GHz, 3gb ram and a Radeon HD3200 chip.  The game super chugs, but is playable with patience and acceptance of glitches like this and others:

    Strategic view randomly crashes on me sometimes and I can't select certain map items in it so I can't take advantage of that mode either, although I believe a patch fixes that.  Your system MIGHT be able to run it if you only use strategic mode, but even then it could be crazy insane slow... like minutes in between a turn depending on game size.
