I can understand that this game is one of those normal, typical and bored shitless point-click games like Reign: Conflict of Nations, Hegemony: Philip of Macedon in which the concept is to click around a big world map & conquer it - game over. All you do is get new icons, territories, miniature buildings and units in the process. What I don't understand is the attention, hype and good ratings it's getting. Not to mention a critic saying "Civ V earns it's position as the ultimate strategy game experience''. Really? What a load of fucking horse crap. I was somewhat irritated when they said ''Ultra realistic graphics''. Actually I'm not irritated, I am very fucking irritated and annoyed - enough to punch the guy that said it in the face really, really hard. Don't get me wrong - Sid Meiers games are alright but the over-praised, over-glorified fucking retarded shit surrounding it makes me hate it.
The most recent strategy game I can think of that isn't costly, has awesome graphics, a lot of replay value is King Arthur; The Roleplaying Wargame. Why? It has everything and the best part is, there's actual real-time combat like in Rome Total War.
- Keep rolling in the hate mail.
Sid Meier's Civilization V
Game » consists of 6 releases. Released Sep 21, 2010
Civilization V brings brand new gameplay elements to this beloved franchise, while maintaining the "just one more turn" mentality.
Why do people like this game so much?
Because they enjoy it? You might not like it but countless others do. Don't assume your opinion is the right one.
Wow, sweet post!
It's an awesome game and I can't stop playing it. That says a lot, because I'm more of a faster paced type of gamer in most instances.
To be honest, I loved it for about 40 or 50 hours of game time, then got completely bored of it. Basically, I played through a couple of entire rounds, then realised I had pretty much seen everything I needed to see. At that point I could see how pretty much every AI match was going to go, and how boring that would be to keep repeating. Just seemed entirely pointless.
Still, some people love the shit out of it, and I can't really fault them for it. But for me at least, the appeal wore thin fairly quick.
Perhaps...read their reviews? I'm sure they explain why they like it.
( Is there as discussion here? This guy is simply an idiot)
" I'll let you know after my next turn. "Every time you plan to quit after the next turn, you play like 5 or 6 more. It's the law of next turns according to Civ V.
"But they were trolls. Obviously trolls. Even Bilbo, in spite of his sheltered life, could see that: from the great heavy faces of them, and their size, and the shape of their legs, not to mention their language, which was not drawing-room fashion at all, at all."
-The Hobbit
Why do people like [insert any game] so much? I can understand that this game is one of those normal, typical and boring video games like Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter II in which the concept is to interact and win -- game over. All you do is see new content in the process.
The most recent video game I can think of that's enjoyable is RapeLay. Why? It has everything and the best part is, there's actual rape like in Bible Black: La Noche de Walpurgis.
