What was to be a new entry in the Silent Hill franchise for the PS4 involving Hideo Kojima, Guillermo Del Toro, and Norman Reedus, was officially cancelled on April 27, 2015. The 'PT' demo of the game has also been taken off PSN.
Aren't there already Silent Hill films? Also, I doubt there was much of a story there for them to base a film off of. Might as well make something different.
Yeah, I think so. I actually think that first Silent Hill is actually pretty amazing until around about halfway through I think it was. Like a lot of things adapted into film though, I feel as if it would be better served as an HBO series. There's generally a lot of shit going on in Silent Hill and with the 10+ hours of a tv series, I feel like there's a much better chance to explore the numerous characters and themes present in a typical Silent Hill game. And with it being on HBO compared to network tv, you can go out all out in terms of violence, sex, and language if need be.
