I'm thinking of going out and buying this game later today. However! There is something that worries me. The game's length.
I'm not just worried that it's too short -- I'm also worried that it's too long. The way I see it, this game should be one of two things: 1) a slow-paced console-style shooter you go through once, or 2) an intense, short arcade-style shmup you only ever use one credit in. Now, from what I've heard, the game is 4-5 hours -- that is to say, too short to be the satisfying as the former, and too long to be well-paced and/or beatable as the latter.
So what I'm asking here is for either fans to explain why I'm wrong (in which case I'll go out and buy the game), non-fans to confirm my suspicion (in which case I probably won't go out and buy the game), or both (in which case I'll base my decision on which side has the most convincing arguments). I've read reviews and discussions at other sites, but I don't feel that any of them have provided satisfactory answers to my question.
