Reinventing the way you skate in a video game.

Skating in the video game industry was largely run by the monopoly of the Tony Hawk series, that is until EA unveiled skate., a revolutionary way to simulate skating in a video game. And boy, did they nail it down real well.

They did away with button mashing with the Tony Hawk series, and went straight to the right thumbstick, controlling most of the tricks. This system was ingenious, the right thumbstick mimicked everything your front foot did, such as a kickflip, or a pop shove-it. That in itself made the game so much fun, and so frustrating at some points. Especially during some of the events that forced you into doing a set tricks in a line, as the thumbstick might not register the trick properly, having you do the whole line over again.

Along with that fault, there was no way to get off your skateboard, making it ever so difficult to climb stairs, hills, etc. Not only that, but there were some weird glitches, including sometimes hitting something and flying 500 feet in the air.

But, with its minor flaws, it is an unbelievably fantastic game. The cast is full of real pro's, and real brands like eS. And for the time, the graphics are still astounding, setting this game apart from any other skate sim out there.

The skate. series is, no doubt, the best skating game out there.

If you are into skating games and are unsure about this game you should get it.  The game takes basic skating controls and rebuilds  them. All tricks are don...
