Don't /killself just yet. Skullgirls must be played, and it cannot be played by the dead. Unless you're Forsaken, in which case you just might qualify to be a Skullgirl! ;)

    I...wait...what?

Are incomplete versions of Skullgirls being distributed to people so they can practice and then compete at a game that isn't released yet? Dota 2 style?

Yeh the guys who made it are from the fighting game community and are trying really hard to make sure that it is a quality product. I know it might of been a sarcastic comment but i figured i would throw that in here just for the props to the hard working devs!

@Scottydoentknow: Thanks for the answer! It actually was a serious question. It always confuses me when I see games being played in a tournament when they aren't even out yet, like Dota 2 or CS:GO or whatever.

It happens when its part of a huge competitive scene the more tourny play its gets the more feed back they are going to receive thus making the ending product better. They want to make it at its best because patches are expensive as all get out which if i remember correctly its around $40,000 for a XBLA patch which just isnt in a budget for a development team like the one working on skullgirls.( its like 4 dudes i think) and competitive people especially the fighting game community dislike frequent patches.
