GAME » on June 30, 1995
A traditional basketball game for the 3DO, featuring close facsimiles of the NBA roster, a forward-facing camera, and multiple season and play-off modes.

Overview

Slam 'N Jam '95 is a basketball game developed by Left Field Productions (Company) and published by Crystal Dynamics (Company) for the 3DO (Platform) in 1995. Playing similar to other traditional five-on-five basketball simulation games of the time, Slam 'N Jam '95 features a "baseline" camera angle (similar to Konami's 1993 arcade game Run and Gun (Game)), multiple season and playoff modes, and audio commentary by CNN Sports sportscaster Van Earl Wright. Although it has some close renditions of the National Basketball Association's roster at the time, it is not officially licensed by the NBA. It later received an updated sequel for the Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and Windows PCs, known as Slam 'N Jam '96 featuring Magic andamp;amp;amp; Kareem, which feature a bonus team (known as Magic & Kareem's All-Stars). Left Field Productions later created a more traditional 3D successor with the NBA Courtside (Franchise) series.
