Overview
Solitaire for Windows is a card solitaire game collection developed by Software Resources International (later as Publishing International) and published by Interplay for Windows PCs in 1992.
A spiritual successor to the studio's earlier MS-DOS collection Solitaire Royale, Solitaire for Windows features 12 card solitaire games (with 12 additional ones as an add-on module), different types of multi-game "Tours", alternate card art and backgrounds, tournament play (where multiple players can alternate solving the same "shuffle"), and other quality-of-life features (such as Undo). The game was originally released in demo format, including three games (Golf, Klondike, and Scorpion).
The game later received an enhanced retail release on January 1996 as Solitaire Deluxe for Windows (or simply Solitaire Deluxe). This version includes all 24 games, as well as Windows 95 support (ported by Presage) and customizable Tours.
