I decided to play Sonic Adventure 2 again and it isn't very good.

Why would speedruns deceive me.

Essentially my opinion on the game, only in much less words.

The love for SA and SA2 confuses me so much. But I'm more confused as to why I bought them on PSN.

I swear I just watched a guy talk about this game afew days ago..

He actually gives a good overview on all the sonic games, and makes the videos pretty long. Though If you don't want to be spoiled don't watch it until you've beaten the game.

@renmckormack: Mmm, if I didn't already have such a huge backlog on the PS3 I would actaully trying to 100% that lovely piece of art on 360. Thankfully I have too many actual games to play. So, that's a life safer.

I've been playing through it recently. I had to give up because it's such a broken piece of shit.

I can explain both. Its because of Chao. Chao are the best thing that Sonic has ever done.

Sonic Adventure 2 is bad. The Sonic/Shadow levels are fun, but the Knuckles, Rouge, Tails, and Eggman levels suck.

Adventure 1 is better.

Come for the Sonic and Shadow levels; stay 300 hours for the Chao.

Those Knuckles/Rouge stages. Ugh. Fuck that game.

Sonic Adventure 2 was a great life-sim, what are you talking about? Sure it has those crappy platforming sections to slog through but you get more shit for your chao!

Sonic Adventure 2 was my first gamecube game, and thus I am forced to look at it in a semi-fond light despite knowing that it hasn't aged well if it was any good in the first place. Hey, remember that part where the camera was awful? Oh wait, that was the entire game.

I'll always love SA and SA2 because I was like 10 when I got a Dreamcast, but yeah, those games aren't very good.

I played the shit out of it in the Dreamcast days, and I own it on nearly every platform it's available on. (Besides PC) For me it's a fun game to load up and just play a quick level or two. Well, the Sonic and Shadow levels anyway.

And anyone who says the first Adventure is better, you're nuts.

Sonic Adventure 2 isn't a terrible game but it isn't a good game either. It's a lot better than most of the stuff that came after it and the Sonic/Shadow stages aren't awful to play.

If you haven't played it though you should check out Sonic Generations, that game is legitimately good.

Couldn't agree more. Sonic Adventure 2 fixed a lot of the problems with part 1 and made a lot of improvements at the same time. Sonic seemed faster and the experience overall was just more streamlined.

I "S" ranked this game about a year ago when it came out on XBLA and this thread is only making me do the same for the PSN version. I love this game and still holds up very well. It does have its issues but is still a fun game to play even if you only play the Sonic portion (which is the best part) its a blast.

From the moment I saw that thread title, I knew that you'd say it's bad.

Yup, it's the truth. The Sonic Adventures are shit. So is Sonic CD. People who think otherwise are utterly confused.

I remember liking both SA games. Haven't played them in years but I remember liking them when I did.
