Sonic Blast (known in Japan as G Sonic) is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by Aspect and published by Sega for the Sega Game Gear in November 1996. It was later released for the Sega Master System in South America by Tec Toy in December 1997.

The fifth and final 8-bit platformer to feature Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Blast features both the titular hedgehog and Knuckles the Echidna as playable characters and pre-rendered 3D graphics (similar to Sonic 3D Blast).

The GG version was included as a hidden mini-game in the 2003 game Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, in the 2004 compilation Sonic Mega Collection Plus, and in the 2005 compilation Sonic Gems Collection (as a limited "demo"). It digitally re-released for the Nintendo 3DS (via Virtual Console) on April 2012 (in Japan), June 2012 (in Europe), and June 2013 (in North America).
