A Sonic Team and Dimps co-production, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I is the first part of the next numeric chapter (though really the twenty-sixth entry) in the adventures of Sega's longtime mascot.
well..I liked the gear stages, act 1 labyrinth ,plus the ending song, boss 2 and invincible. though, ending song and invincible sounded like the moon theme from ducktales.
After Ryan overreacted on a podcast against Sonic fans, I have simply followed his example and as such I will say " A DECADE OF BAD GAMES, [YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY IF YOU THINK SONIC 4 WILL BE GOOD]. "
Sounds like shit. I think when (if) I play this, I'll use the 360s custom soundtracks to play the OST of Sonic CD. Euro soundtrack, not the US crap.

Ryan is wrong. The Advance series was pretty good and this is by the same dudes.
every level used to have a very unique specific sound. this time, its all pokemon sounding crap.
this is the metropolis look-a-like level in the new game:
music fucking stinks, although the gameplay looks great and so do the visuals. now for the original metropolis zone that this was inspired by: just skip to 0:30 seconds in: just a simple, snappy, catchy song. not over conjested with synthesizers and everything gets buried.
" Ech. Doesn't hold a candle to the old Sonic tunes. "
yup. sonic 3 was the best, with michael jackson in the music chair. that game had excellent music, none of which sounded like the over conjested splatter of sounds in this new game. nothing stands out. nothing is catchy at all. the music in the original sonic games tended to emulate real music. like in the video above it sounds like a lead guitar is trying to be emulated. well in this new game it would have been nice to have some real music. instead we got a dude who learned how to use his midi keyboard instead.
" I didn't like them. They actually hurt your ears when listening. "
So they hit that authentic Genesis sound. "
Touche.
Maybe you are right. But it's still not as complex as the Genesis tracks, and there are less varied instruments, and the ones that there are, are definitely used too much in the music.
