Today is the 18th Anniversary of the release of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. It also marks 8 years since Sonic Adventure 2. Saying that makes me feel really, really old, because Sonic Adventure 2 doesn't feel like it came out that long ago.

I never really got into sonic until the first adventure, so it makes me very sad that that was the last half decent sonic game

Anyways, it is a shame that Sega went of the hardware business.  I am not sure why people hate on Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, I still love those games.  Those were the last good sonic games, at least for me.

They were giving stuff away on Sonic Games' Twitter today, and one of the prize winners (after realizing he had won the Sonic X Kids' pack) replied requesting that he would not receive his prize.

This thread makes me remember how much I fucking hate Sonic. Good music though. That Green Hill Zone at the topic is a real classic. I wish more games had music like that now instead of orchestral ambiance.

Wow, 18, how depressing. Sonic went full Robert Downey Jr fast, except Sonic won't have his own comeback. 18 years, 10 of which were made of pure suck, and that is a kind estimate.

18 eh? I hope he's going to college before re-entering the workforce. He needs to go figure out what he wants to do the rest of his life and come back with a plan. We know he has some strengths (2D) but he needs to decide for himself what he's going to do.
