    Soul Calibur 2 Review

For my Video Review, go to,

A tale of souls and swords eternally retold, again, yes Soul Calibur is back with a new installment, which on a whole, is a great game.

Usually i would go over the story of the game first, but lets face it, no one plays fighting games to find a deep story, that's why people play rpg's, no, in fighting games you just want to smack some heads, so lets get into game play.

Soul Calibur 2 boasts a wide variety of game modes that you would find in most fighters, arcade, survival, time attack, practice and so on, its all here. The mode that will take up most of your time is Weapons Master mode, in this mode you will fight various opponents under various conditions, such as poison for example, and as you win fights, you'll gain gold, and xp, used to level up your character, although this doesn't really do anything, but using gold you can buy more weapons for your characters to use. As for the base game play of Soul Calibur 2, it remains the same as the previous installment, which is good, why mess with a winning formula?

Soul Calibur 2 is a great looking game, no matter the console you buy it for, you'll be impressed, and the sound design is top notch, with various orchestral tracks that fit the battles.

Overall, Soul Calibur 2 is an impressive fighting game, that doesn't mess with the series formula, but is just a joy to play, and the only thing that should keep you from picking up this game, is deciding what version's special character you want, I'm going to give Soul Calibur 2 a 8.5/10.
