    The fifth installment in Namco's Soul series of weapon-based fighting games, Soulcalibur IV is the first to be released on seventh-generation consoles and the first online entry in the series. It's known for its use of Star Wars characters as guest fighters.

    Best Fighting Game of the Year... so far

    Soul Calibur 4 is the lastest installment in the Soul Calibur seires.  Everything about this game is great, expect the story.  The story is about the two legendary swords; Soul Calibur and Soul Edge, and the journeys of people around the world trying to destroy or gather them.  The story is the weakest part of the game.  Luckily other modes made the game great.  Like the new mode, Tower of the Lost Souls is a great addition to the game.  The mode is about you going up a tower and facing mutiple eneimes including a boss at the end.  It just another mode to make this game even better.  Even though they shorten it, Arcade mode is still fun.  Versus mode is still the same, and it never gets old.  However, now you can play online with people around the world.  You can play ranked or unranked matches.  This mode makes the Soul Calibur series back on top.  Finally you can see how you stack up against other people around the world.  With this mode, the replay value of this game is very high.  People can play for months trying to be the number person in the world.  Not only can you play with the characters bulid in the game, you can also play with your own created character.  Character Creation lets you create your own characters from scratch, but you can also bulid characters based on the default character.  You can change character's clothes, weapons, hair style, face, voice, and so much more.  Another great addition that makes Soul Calibur 4 from a good game to a great game.  Grapihics are also good.  Nice details on armor, facial animations, and every enviroment looks good.  It uses the Havok engine, which was in Bioshock.  So this game is truly a beauty.
    -Final Notes-

    Soul Calibur 4 is a great game.  Every mode, expect for story, make this a great game.  You need to definitely play this game.  I say rent it first to see if you like it.  However, if you love fighting games and is a Soul Calibur fan than buy this game.

    Story: 7/10
    The story is not good, but it's not terrible.  However, this does not make the game bad.

    Graphics: 9/10
    The graphics are really crisp and sharp.

    Gameplay: 9/10
    The fighting mechanics is excellent.  Which makes the game fun.

    Replay Value: 9.5/10
    Tower of the Lost Souls, Online play, and Character Creation makes the replay value very high
