People seem to gloss over it, because they're either talking about the game being completely average or it having a really great story. The music is pretty damn good though, especially since I just expected generic metal music or some dumb shit.

Yup I'd agree. It captures the tone of the game and changes as the characters do. Man I actually enjoyed that game quite a bit

It was actually the music that came on the radio in the demo that convinced me to buy the game. Music is spot on with the tone- very stylish.

I gloss over it because it's all played.  
But yes it's good music, a little on the nose with the "Heart of Darkness" tone but I guess some things needed to be less subtle than others haha

I heard no less than three Black Angels songs, so I feel pandered to a little, but still a very kick ass soundtrack. There are a few generic metal combat loops in there but they can't all be winners.
