Hello there I just wanted to say that I noticed jeff hated on the game during the Quicklook but the game look very awsome watching it on youtube. the same thing happened to me with uncharted 2 i watched on youtube first then I bought it to find it's not that awsome as it was on the youtube vidoes. after hours and hours of trying to figure out why Games look better on youtube i found it but not sure that the encoding makes games look awsome.

I know am not alone in this I read some comment saying spec ops the line is very good looking in the quicklook comments while jeff is hating it.

please get involved in this because if we figure out how we make games look awsome it will be a revolution.

It's a conspiracy, YouTube makes bad games look good to fool you into buying them. The quicker this is stopped the better, its ruining the games industry just like used games sales are.

think about it and try to compare your recoreded video of a certain game and the actual gameplay for some reason it gets better ..many people said the game doesn't look bad in the QUICKLOOK of SPEC OPS while jeff just trashed it.

even with pc games the feel is different when it's posted and yeah you can't believe how a flash media with 30fps on youtube make a better feel than the origanl gameplay.

I couldn't believe it the first time but it just happens it's werid but it's true. It's noticable with fast motion of the camera and fast focus of the camera.

try to notice how the camera moves espcially in spec ops the line and you will know what difference am talking about.

Games look better when I imagine them in my head than they do on youtube. If we figure out how to transfer my thoughts into video it would be a revolution.

I've never seen a Youtube video look better than the actual game... Unless the game is so ugly that the Youtube compression just helps hide that a little.

it's in the encoding something in the encoding make fast movement more of an eyecandy just like when you TAKE COVER the camera zoom in and out in a very nice way on youtube. while if i try to get the same camera motion in real gameplay it doesnt feel that epci.

maybe the textures are not the best but movement wise it far faaaaaaaaaar more better.

Compression makes things look worse- from a technical standpoint. If it doesn't to you, that's a cool mental state sometimes I wish I had haha. I mean I'm not a graphics whore, but some games do look awful (in video or real time). 
Anyway, saying games look better in video (on youtube- as if that matters) as a fact is nonsense.

Maybe your system is set to 1080i? That could make the movement look less epic.

In a serious response; yo dawg it's because it's a film and not in real time. No matter what you are watching, even if it's from real time at a lower frame rate, it will look better as a video file (compression notwithstanding).

It's probably because the amount of pixels per inch in your monitor is a lot more than your tv so everything looks crisp and brighter on your monitor, especially if you have a CRT or something crazy. Buy an HDMI to VGA adapter for your monitor and play your console games on it. Problem solved.

@Napalm: Yeah, HDMI and VGA are pretty similar, you'll just have to connect your speakers to the console directly. I just used my headset when I had this setup.

There's a 2mm jack or whatever for headphones that I use secondary logitech speakers for, so that shouldn't be an issue. I don't think, at least...

If you have a TV that uses HDMI, you do not need a HDMI to VGA cable. I just realized I use a HDMI to DVI. No a HDMI to VGA would not be digital. My HDMI to DVI is. I use mine because I have my Xbox connected to the same monitor my computer is connected to.
