As a brave, but fragile adventurer, explore dangerous procedurally-generated caves to collect treasure and gain better equipment, before dying horribly and starting all over again.
PS3 Daily had a few free shotguns in it. I still managed to die early in the Jungle, with something like $45K.
Last night, though, back in typical Adventure...
Hooray. Don't know that there was anything particularly special about the run. Just made my way through. I'm sure I did some dumb things, but survived them. I guess I did find the jetpack embedded in the top of the bee hive. Yama bonked me on the head a few times, and my shotgun ended up in lava, so I had to get him with sticky bombs. Almost had a Spike Ball fall on me afterwards, while bombing for rubies. Anyhoo. First time to Hell; first time to Yama; first time beating him. Time was 61 minutes, though I got $687K for my new high score.
I guess I've beaten the game proper now. There's still ridiculous speed runs, and filling the journal, and leaderboards, and Daily Challenges, and misc. silly things to do. I'm at something like 62 hours played, and probably at least 25 hours of watching Spelunkin' with Scoops and other videos.
I died on 4-3 in a situation that really was not very difficult to deal with. I was just really fixated on killing the shopkeeper with my Plasma Cannon instead of bombs... despite the fact that I didn't really have any reason to hoard bombs at that point, and killing him with the bombs would have been super easy. I even had a lot of HP too, but it didn't matter because he bounced me around like a volleyball and shot me a couple times. Even if I didn't die I wouldn't have broken 900k, so I didn't really mind getting killed here. It still raised my average!
