I didn't feel like spending the 10 dollars on the creature creator, but I've been mucking around with the free trial for a day or so.

I plan on deleting everything I currently have so I can start fresh with all the parts. Tomorrow I plan on installing and starting fresh with a new cell, playing for a bit, and then going into the creator and making a bunch of stuff to share out. I really dig the community aspect of this game, and while I may not be the best creator, I think some of the stuff I've made in the trial is pretty neat.

I don't think the search tool finds folks that haven't created anything yet. I got rid of all my 50% Creature Creator things tonight, so it should show me again tomorrow morning after I make some stuff. Also, make sure you hit the "share (or whatever it says)" button after you make a creation.

I'll go through and add folks tomorrow when I get back with the game.

Seems to be minor issues actually adding people. Tried to add 3 of you last night and only got through to voidpresence. Though, as Moridin says, probably down to creations.

Edit: It seems that making the sporecast isn't as easy as just naming it and joining up. I acually had to manually add creature which would be annoying if I was to get everyones creatures and other creations on. I thought once you signed up all your stuff went upautomatically. Add me as a friend anyway. I plan on adding everyone here

i think its because people have to specifically upload a creation to the Sporepedia webpage (not just enable sharing)..in other words, have creations up at the website, for people to be able to go see it and thus 'add as buddy';
if they have no creation(s) on the site, there's no way for us to search via name.  So for those who have not been added yet, upload some stuff already so that you're 'seekable' (if you wish to be of course).

on a side note, once everyone's been playing for some time, lets keep some threads for mentioning notable landmark encounters with other GiantBombers' species  :)

Also, seeing as I had to start my game offline due to EA screw ups (see the tech forum if you're lucky enough to not have issues) it looks like I'm still stuck with Maxis creations.

At any rate, give it a week or so and this game will probably reach it's potential. I only just realised on like, my fourth colony, that you didn't have to keep redesigning houses. Idiot moment.

Yeah I managed to add all the people I was having trouble with. People also seem to be able to add me now, enjoy my sheep-ship and my frog astronaut :)

got to the space stage last night.

i dont have very much and almost half of my creatures are just iterations on my original creature. I really like the way it looks, but the only bad thing is that it's name is "teh shiz" cause i made it with the intention of deleting it haha. but i didn't. oh well.

Gotten to space stage about 3 times now, but have yet to really dig into it a whole lot.

Hahaha I'm thinking there must be some kind of bias the game has towards content you've looked at in the sporepedia. I was just looking at Leakster's Sheep UFO thinking it look really cool, then I jumped back into my game. Not a minute later, the very first alien race i encoutner in space - four sheep ships trying to kill me. Not so cool anymore!! haha.
