I personally liked the Spyro games on the PS1. I didn't play any of them on the PS2. Maybe it's time for a reboot for this generation. Naughty Dog can take it over.
I think that the Spyro type of game is certainly less interesting now than it was a long time ago. Better games have come by, and, while I like that dragon for some reason, I can see Spyro being gone for good.
Oh memories, I played the hell outta the second game on the ps1 when i was a kid. Too bad now.

Exactly. Too bad kiddy games nowadays are mostly half-ass movie tie-ins and the good ones are so few. I think R&C pretty much takes up the throne of kid games now, as I could hardly think of any other.

Yup. Ratchet was my thought too. The humor in those games adds to the simple platforming fun that Spyro used to have. Stuff like that makes it hard or impossible to invest in a game that probably will cost more to make than it will bring in.
Both Crash Bandicoot and Spyro have been dead to me for years, but if Insomniac bought back the rights and then rebooted it or Nos-con'd it with Spyro 4 then that would be great.
I have to agree with most that the instant insomniac stopped making them, they ceased to exist for me. The old ones had a charm that you could appreciate regardless of age, but the new ones became too kiddy and slowly slipped in that area too.
After insomniac gave up on the series, then it died, but, if sucker punch or naughty dog takes the series over, then i`ll be happy, or if insomniac made a new 3D collection or a reboot of the game, then i`ll be super happy
Spyro died when he made his first appearance on the ps2 with Enter the Dragonfly. Then with each new entry the feel for Spyro started getting lost and they kept changing up things like his appearance. The 3 Spyro games Insomniac made on the ps1 will always be the best.
Its more dead then the Crash Bandicoot series!!! I never got into this series, I don't know something about a little pink dragon just didn't appeal to me...
