    Overview

Stack Columns is a falling-block tile-matching puzzle game developed and released by Sega for arcades (using Genesis-based Sega System C-2 hardware) in 1994.

The fourth game in the Columns series, Stack Columns updates the competitive versus-style variant from Columns III with the "stack chip" system, where each player's attack power are now shown as stacks of poker chips. It is identical to the attacking system from Columns III (with the maximum held power now raised to 50 from 30), although players can now reduce their opponent's attack power by forming combos. It also removes the "Flash Jewel" system.

The game also has a new gambling casino theme with some comedic elements, as the single-player campaign has players participating in multiple tournaments throughout the world (with some unusual opponents, such as an intelligent monkey, a cyborg, and a "superskilled sniper" with a head reminiscent of a Puyo Puyo character).

It was later included in the 1997 Japan-exclusive Sega Saturn compilation Columns Arcade Collection.
