Don't Just Stand There! Play Call of Pripyat! 0

The original STALKER was a game with a spectacular concept. The goal was to make a highly atmospheric, self-contained survival horror world. Sadly, that game never lived up to that. It was a fantastic game with a killer atmosphere, but bugs in the missions and frequent crashes made the game difficult to enjoy. Not only that, but there were noticeable weak points in the gameplay. At the end of the game it wasn't uncommon to find yourself with more money that you could ever spend in game. The inab...

The STALKER series is definitely underrated, and I feel that although these games aren't up to par in the graphics department, they are unmatched when it comes to atmosphere and immersion. This latest addition to the franchise is also the most stable and rewarding. While the previous two games have been riddled with annoying bugs and AI glitches, Call of Pripyat seems to have significantly reduced that factor allowing for more seamless and enjoyable game play. Sharing a genre with games like Fal...

    Call of Pripyat 0

I was pretty late to the whole S.T.A.L.K.E.R party, only buying Shadow of Chernobyl when it was going cheap on Steam. Little did I know this would start a crazy love for having shoot-outs with angry Russians and jumping head first into dangerous anomaly fields.  Overall the game is a massive improvement over the last two, straight out of the box the game is playable and none of the horrible nightmare tales I've heard of bugs and glitches can really be found here. The very popluar Oblivion Lost ...

STALKER COP Quick Review Let me start by saying I am an ardent fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. With that said, it must be noted that these games are buggy and that if you suffer through it, and quick save often, then you will be delighted in not only the game play and atmosphere, but also in the story.  The same holds true for COP, however, it is not the strongest entry in the series. Either way, here are the pros and cons of COP: Pros: Less buggy of the three Refined RPG Mechanics (upgrad...

Call of Pripyat- a Definitive Version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R games 0

IntroductionSince the series' first offering, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise has earned the reputation as one of the buggiest games available for PC. Shadows of Chernobyl and Clear Sky both suffered from game breaking, or even occasional severe glitches that greeted players with the dreaded BSOD. If that wasn't enough, its steep learning curve and punishing gameplay alienated many players away from the game. ...

Solid Shooter, Lots of Interesting Twists 0

Before you ask, I have no idea what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. actually stands for. This is a game I saw on a Steam sale a couple months ago for about $20, in a pack that actually included this game's predecessor S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. I jumped on the deal, downloaded the game, and proceeded to ignore it until a couple weeks ago. Now that's I've finished the game, I have to say, Call of Pripyat was definitely worth the price. You start with a suit, a gas mask, and an AKU; welcome to the Z...

Excellent game, gritty, creepy, and misanthropic 0

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Shadow of Chernobyl is one of the most criminally underappreciated games of all time. After years in development, it delivered an excellent FPS/RPG experience like no other. It was a great mixture of exploration, horror, and first person shooting delivered with a creepy, gritty, atmosphere and a misanthropic attitude. Still, its bugginess and rough edges left some room for improvement. Call of Pripyat is a superb follow-up. It is more excellent than its predecessor and just as o...
