Overview
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Harbinger is a sci-fi first-person point-and-click adventure game developed by Stormfront Studios and published by Viacom New Media for DOS PCs and Macintosh computers on March 1996.
Based on the sci-fi series Star Trek, more specifically the 1993-1999 television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Harbinger follows Federation diplomat Envoy Bannick as he crash-lands onto the space station Deep Space Nine during a plasma storm, only to be embroiled in the murder of an alien ambassador he's sent to meet with.
The game is primarily a point-and-click adventure game set in a first-person perspective, and has players navigating the station while interacting with various inhabitants and crewmembers. It also includes rail shooter sequences at some points through the story. It predominantly features pre-rendered 3D CGI graphics, with digital recreations of the station's interior and several of the original series's main cast, and has the original cast provide voicework for their respective characters (namely Avery Brooks as Captain Sisko, René Auberjonois as Constable Odo, Nana Visitor as Major Kira, Terry Farrell as Lieutenant Dax, and Armin Shimerman as Quark).
