Got this from STO today (psb). I've been playing quite a bit of STO
lately. Just finished the Devidians story arc. Not bad.

Star Trek Online
Game » consists of 6 releases. Released Feb 02, 2010
A sci-fi MMORPG developed by Cryptic Studios and Perpetual Entertainment which allows players to fight amongst the ranks of Starfleet, join the Klingon Empire, or rebuild a Romulan homeworld.
Tron Space is going away!
The new sector space looks amazing. Feels a lot more like "space" and less like you just plugged a joystick into astrometrics.
Here's a quick look at it:
I played the beta and never really enjoyed it. Strayed far too much from Star Trek for my tastes. I do see you can buy "retro" packs on the shop, but that's even more money ontop of the subscription.
(and I'm very shocked to see things like the NX badge up for sale, which is something that almost pushed me towards buying the game early. Giving it to everyone makes it utterly pointless)
If it goes free to play, I'd probably hop back into it.
" Lets all behave and get along. "Man a whole page is missing. I don't think all of the posts that
were deleted(?) were inflammatory.
" @Lind_L_Taylor: I think it's for the best. None of the deleted posts were on-topic. You should thank Hamz for getting the thread back on track. So yeah, the new sector space looks awesome! More reason for me to find time to play STO again. :) "Well I wrote some stuff about new Bridge Officers for Androids
& Holograms coming out by April & it became a casualty of
the Great Thread War. I've already got names for mine:
"Bishop" for the Android & "Wintermute" for the Hologram. :)
Or maybe I'll change them a little...Rook & Summermute. LOL.
I'm not sure why, but the game has become surprisingly addictive.
I didn't understand the mechanics as well when I started the game,
but between playing the game & reading the STO forums & various
guides, it's all started to make a great deal of sense. You get passed
that surface level game angst & finally wrap your head around it.
Since I can use an Xbox 360 Controller to control most of the Space
& Ground game, I get the satisfaction of a Console game as well. Like
having the best of both worlds. One thing I get bored with however
is the music. I've turned that off. I've got some techno on my iPod
& I was thinking of buying a few soundtracks, maybe the Aliens
soundtrack, Fallout, Mass Effect, & Escape from New York & mix
that together to play on my iPod (through a stereo system) to get
a change in the sound while playing the game.
The space combat is a lot more fun with others. Although I've played
it quite a bit by myself, it just takes longer on the boss battles. When
you have a team, you don't get killed as much. I like playing with the
difficulty setting on Advanced. It's no fun playing the game if you don't
take some penalty for losing a battle, at least for me.
