Star Wars is a tremendous property with so many spinoffs. toys, and even theme park rides. You really can't avoid the property. I'm into it.

The game takes alot of elements from Uncharted, Tomb Raider (modern), and Shadow of the Colossus. I thought of myself as too good to use a strategy guide for Shadow of the Colossus but the other properties I have played pretty extensively. There are sections that feature sliding as part of missions. It would have been a lot more fun if this on-rails portion had a few occasional quicktime events instead of timed jumps which are easily missed or misjudged. I fell of the sides more than i care to admit.

There's something about snow in every star wars game. Is there snow featured in every movie and game? From shadows of the empire to rogue squadron to battlefront 2 to force unleashed all featured snow. A Star Wars game isn't complete without snow.

As terribly cheap as Vader's costume and all of the props look in real life at Disney World they still have a cool appeal to them in a game. Disney's Galaxy's Edge is a must visit attraction that I can't wait to see in person. Star Wars JFO plays really well with all the sounds and visuals in their repertoire.

Any games journalist worth his salt would have asked in pre-release interview if Vader was going to be in JFO. I hope they said 'no.'

There are a limited number of bad ass animations. And for a souls-like it's frustrating when you fight the same enemy types and you know you're getting the same kill animations.

There's no waypoints but a wonky wire-frame map in the pause menu. I have to admit that i learned the map better than having to just follow an arrow all over the place. Maybe i should turn it off for more games in the future.

As far as gameplay I really enjoyed wielding the lightsaber to light the caverns. I didn't unlock all the abilities so a future playthrough is an option. A souls-like game that i kind of wish had the tells of Sekiro with sound effects to know when to block.

Not much else. Definitely 5 out of 5 for me.
