    hey, i had a hankering for this game again, so i tried installing it to my computer. unfortunately, i'm running vista, so, well, i'm having some trouble with it. i tried downloading a patch, but it didn't work. i can advance as far as the tutorial, but then it goes black and a message pops up saying "star wars knights of the old republic has stopped working" or something to that effect. has this happened to anyone else? i know there have been a lot of problems with this game and vista, so i was wondering if there was a standard, bulletproof fix for this. thanks.

    p.s. this is my first attempt at making a thread, so please be patient

    Same thing happened to me with the first one, even tried running in compatibility mode and it still won't work. Works fine in 7, both of them

    Did you try running it in compatibility mode (Windows XP) ? I'm running the game fine in Win 7 using that setting.

    @Shadowfax: Steam version and disc version of KoTOR work fine for me, even without compatibility mode.

    Right-click on your KotOR 2 icon, click on properties and you'll find the compatibility mode.

    @Shadowfax:

    Right click on your KOTOR 2 shortcut and go to the compatibility tab. Choose Windows Xp from the dropdown menu and give it a go. If that doesn't work, you can always try emailing BioWare at swinfo@bioware.com.
