Hey everyone. Long story short...awhile ago, most of the moderators chipped in and created a slush fund to be used to get games to give away to the community. We then sat on this fund for over a year until the first prizes were finally given out in collaboration with the now defunct Luchazine. Now, the Luchazine is no more and we're sitting on a boatload of Steam games to give away...so here goes, the first test on how we're going to do things. This is going to continue on a weekly or biweekly basis until at least Christmas, or until our entire stock is depleted...which is substantial. Some contests may have more than one winner, but for now there shall be only one.
For this giveaway, the sole winner will receive one Steam copy of Knights of the Old Republic. The winner will be chosen by a random name selector - entrants will be chosen from a pool of all Whiskey Media Subscribers to reply to this thread during the next 24 hours. I will close this topic at 9pm Pacific Time on Thursday, December 2nd, and then announce a winner shortly thereafter. One entry per person, and subscribers only this time. For future giveaways we may keep it subscribers only, or open it up to more users with criteria that will be determined at some future date.
It would be nice:
1) If you've played KOTOR countless times, don't enter
2) If you have no interest in playing KOTOR, don't enter
3) If you don't have a PC capable of running KOTOR, don't enter.
I guess what I'm saying is, do your fellow members a favor and don't enter just for the sake of getting something free. Give people who really want to play this game a better chance of winning it! If you wish to reply to this thread and are a subscriber but don't want to enter, please state as such in your reply and I won't enter you into the hat.
Thanks everyone and good luck!

" good luck and have batman. "^^Let me be the second to say. gl hbm.
I've always wanted to try KOTOR.
I kinda want paypal so I can participate in stuff like this first =P
Good luck to others who have yet to experience this gaming miracle!
I just want to say good luck to those that enter and thanks to the mods for doing this.
Oh, and don't enter me in the contest; I own the game on both the original xbox and have a hard copy for the PC. One of these days I'll get around to actually beating the game though.
I bloody well hope so, I want to support this site but there's not much I can do unless they come up with paypal soon =P
I would like to enter. I have played very little of this game and I'm quite ashamed of that. I watched my friend play bits and pieces of it years ago but I only ever played it a couple times. I'm not sure why I have yet to get around to buying and playing through this game since Bioware has made a lot of my favorite titles. Maybe just the Star Wars part of it really put me off, never been much of a fan. I neglected to purchase it when it was on sale on Steam too because I had already spent more than I would have liked over the weekend on the rest of the deals ><
This is pretty cool of you guys to do this. Giant Bomb never ceases to impress.
I hear ya, been thinking the same thing that its kinda lame for some loyal (as in not payment loyal) people to get screwed over.
Or, in my case, people who want to pay and support and not getting a chance to pay or opt in in contest!
But, ah well!
I throw my hat in in the ring for a chance at super happy fantastic terrific star wars gaming extravaganza.
Wow count me in for this! I think its great that you guys are giving these games to the community too great job.
I'd also like to commend the moderators. Don't enter me into the draw for I already have a copy of KOTOR, also I think it's a shame you couldn't acquire physical copy of KOTOR to giveaway. Game had a really good spiral bound manual.
I'd like a version I can play. I bought the game many years ago, but the Starforce DRM has locked out all my computers for claiming that the disc in my hand is fake.
They are LUCKY I haven't pirated it yet.
I've actually never played KOTOR (or the second one). I've watched other people play enough to know that I loved the robot that called everyone Meatbags. I didn't think I'd be much into games of its kind, but Mass Effect 2 totally blew that out of the water. So ever since I got into ME2 I've been thinking I should get around to trying KOTOR or KOTOR 2 but simply haven't yet.
