    Still worth playing if end twist is spoiled?

    Due to my constant and addictive perusal of all things video-game related, the apparently mind-shattering ending of this game is ruined for me. I love the star wars universe, and it'd be interesting to see where bioware came from. Just wondering if the game holds up and is worth the playthrough even though one of the major payoffs has been ruined. Thanks!

    Absolutely, as long as you don't mind the dated graphics this is still one of the best games of all time, imo.

    Surprisingly, the twist actually isn't at the ending. It's maybe about 75% of the way through. Sort of around the same time you find out the twist in Bioshock.

    Anyway, the game is absolutely worth playing.

    @killacam:

    Yeah. The game is fun and more then its ending. Plus the ending is only as impactful as its build up. You have a bit of a spoiled experience but the actual twist is a relatively small part of a huge experience.

    The twist wasnt really a big deal in KotOR
    It's not an end twist and it comes on pretty soft from what I remember.

    If that game had more interesting environments, a 'finished' ending, and a quarter of the bugs... I might agree. :P

    I think so. I remember buying the guide for this game when I picked it up (I was like 14 and an idiot). On the way home, I eagerly read my way through the guide and was shocked to discover the twist shown in big bold letters. I was kinda bummed but the game was still enjoyable.

    Part of me knows that I was dumb for reading ahead but did the writers really need to put the story spoilers IN the guide?

    I agree. People always have that special game they go back to from time to time and KOTOR is that for me. I play it at least once every year.

    I think it holds up great. I have actually been working my way through it again myself. If you're playing it on the PC then I would suggest getting the widescreen mod, but other than that the game plays almost flawlessly and is a fantastic game.
