Darth Malak Would be Jealous
So Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is in my top 5 best games of all time and will most likely stay there for a while. I played this game to death back in 2003 and I play it to death now in 2012. So yes, this review is a little late but I'm lazy and am just starting to care about writing as of now so there you have it.
Friendly reminder, this game was made in 2003. So the graphics are dated but this review is late so I can't complain. KotOR is by far a great RPG and one of Bioware's finest creations. From the minute you speak to Trask until you strike down Malak this game is addictive, fun, gripping, thrilling. It is just a big box of chocolates that never ends.
Time for the breakdown.
Graphics: Pretty good in 2003 and even now the light sabers are mesmerizing.
Gameplay: Complex yet simple p.c. inspired combat lets you have a variety of attacks when fighting a large assortment of foes.
Content: Many hours can be spent in just one play through. From the engaging conversations with party member on the Ebon Hawk to the billions of side quests at your disposal there are never ending possibilities and we must not forget that the is a light side and a dark way to play and end the game and when you get bored (i.e. never) you can always go for the challenging "Gray Area" approach.
Story: This Western RPG was a huge stepping stone for the genre and its story inspires many even today. Great companions, great lore, great conflict, great everything.
All in all Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic deserves nothing less than a stellar 5 out of 5 from the Taris civilian at the Upper City Cantina.
