This is quite puzzling indeed. The first Force Unleashed sold incredibly well and the LEGO Star Wars games are still selling. Gutting the internal development infrastructure and canceling outside development makes little to no sense. At that point they'll have no one making games and then what's really the point in being a video game company?

Sadly I think that's how all of the Lucas companies operate. They have this bizarre self-destructive streak that rivals that of an emo teenager.

It's only cause they couldn't make a game that has triple wielding. I mean really, if they did that, they'll be copying Zoro from One Piece and then they'll be in some legal shithole. Best to play it safe.

So the highest selling Star Wars series is dead or in limbo and probably the next biggest is already canned? Surely not. If something sells millions and they keep canning them they might as well quit now.

I really liked Force Unleashed 1 and the demo for the sequel was awesome

That doesn't change the fact that LucasArts looks like a company lead by an insane monkey with split personality that's getting both Ritalin and meth at the same time.

I saw all of the cutscenes for Force Unleashed, thankfully someone on youtube uploaded them all as a single video. Gotta say, I wasn't to impressed with the story. Seemed like they tried too hard to shoehorn in the original trilogy.

I could care less, as I was severely disappointed by the original and I doubt the sequel would live up to the series potential. It needed to end one way or another, even if The Force Unleashed II ends with a cliffhanger.

i actually liked the force unleashed story...  i thought it was entertaining and it was better than the newer movies

I think Lucasarts pumps out enough Star Wars based third-person action games. I remember when they used to make, like... other stuff. In addition to those.
