@skithus: Thanks, I grabbed the Referral Code but left the first one. Been wanting to check out the game again, I haven't played since launch.

@mike: No problem, lot of big changes since release, especially with the most recent expansion. Leveling is much faster now, and the new story for Knights of the fallen empire is much better produced then anything previously.

@skithus: Thanks - do you know if using your code entitles me to a free instant level 60 character for the expansion stuff? I'm downloading the client right now, so if you don't know I'll find out for sure shortly.

I'm also going to try and set up my Steam Controller to play SWTOR with, so we'll see how well that works, if at all.

Not sure mike, It says if you're a former subscriber you are entitled to 7 days if subscriber level access. Knights of the Fallen Empire is only available to subscribers, so you MIGHT gain access to it and the free character boost that comes with it.

If not, it is my understanding that if you subscribe for one month you gain access to the KOTFE chapters permanently, but not to the future ones. So currently there are 9 chapters, with more coming in January. If you subscribed now, for one month you'd have access to the initial 9 chapters even if you then let your subscription lapse, but you would need to resubscribe once the new ones came out.

It would be VERY interesting if the free 7 days got you the 9 chapters, but I suspect they'd have thought of that.

So its the "Up to Level 50" part that would likely prevent you from recieve KOTFE stuff, since that is all Level 60+. But who knows.

@skithus: My account right now says I'm a subscriber, and I just got an email thanking me for coming back to SWTOR, and that my subscription will auto-renew with the card on file (which is long expired.) So we'll see.

@mike: Well, I can't create a Level 60 - it's prompting me to buy a token from the Cartel Market for that. It also says I am a Subscriber, yet I see a prompt to purchase the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion for $9.99. But the window where I can create a new character at Level 1 says I'll have access to the story as well as the Hutt Cartel and Shadow of Revan expansions. The whole thing is quite confusing.

I know I already had "Preferred Status" from buying the game for full price at launch, but at this point I'm not sure what my level cap even is. I really don't want to resubscribe, but I also saw that I can't even equip purple items unless I buy an authorization from the Cartel Market, which seems really gross. At this point I may just start a new character since my highest was only level 35 anyway.

@mike: Its likely you need to actually subscribe then for the free 60. In addition Subscribers receive rise of the hurr cartel and shadow of revan for free. So I wouldn't spend money on it.
