Star Wars is a space fantasy film franchise that initially told the tale of Luke Skywalker and a rebellion's struggle against the evil Galactic Empire. It has spawned over one hundred games, six sequels/prequels and at least millions of different shirts, action figures and other merchandise.

Obviously Star Wars isn't synonymous with quality games, but this is hopefully a good sign of things to come.

I would play a game as Kyle Katarn seeking intergalactic fortune and getting caught up in a compelling love triangle.

After Dead Space 3, are we still 'yay' on Visceral or have they become a 'nay?'

I'm feeling nay, especially if they're an EA studio (rather than had the DS games merely published by EA)

She can write the quippy, loveable roguish character quite well so seems like a good fit for Han Solo archetype characters.

Shame no Eidos, Soul Reaver, pick up though.

Hard to say. A lot of the key Dead Space 1 staff left Visceral to form Sledgehammer Games. Dead Space 2 was good, though. I'd like to think Dead Space 3 would've been excellent if it hadn't been for EA suits doing what EA suits do.

Kinda disappointing that Amy went to the dark side, but on the plus side this gets her closer to Bioware and by six degrees gets her closer to RPGs. I'd like to see her write another one of those in the future.

What? Maybe in the past decade or so. But Star Wars has had a fairly long history of quality games. A couple of which are arguably the greatest of all time.

Visceral have made two games among the best of the generation, and two pretty looking clunkers.

What games would that be? Because I don't know where you're putting Dead Space. (They made Dead Space, right?)

I think the two best games would be dead space 1/2. The two clunkers would be Dead Space 3 and Dante's Inferno. However, I heard Dante's Inferno wasn't that bad.

That's what I was afraid of. I haven't played 2, but Dead Space 1 felt like BioShock with a significantly weaker ideological base.

@video_game_king: Dead Space 2 was a total different game. It was way more actiony than Dead space 1. What Dead Space 1 really lacked was a great presentation and storytelling. This is why I think Amy is a very good fit for that.

But that would be missing the point I guess. Dead Space was more about being an action-horror game unlike Bioshock. More like Doom 3 meets Resident Evil 4 kind of thing I suppose. Bioshock is more "Half Lifey". Dead Space games also have great mechanics. Though they're not among my favourites from its generation I could see why someone would choose them.

Except that wasn't Amy Hennig's thing. That was Neil Druckman.

Aaaaaaaaaaand Visceral made Dead Space 1 and 2 (both fucking fantastic horror games that aren't really scary but still fun) as well as Dead Space 3 (which is not good) and Dante's Inferno.

It felt too split down the middle between the two, like it was trying to have its cake and eat it, too. Neither element worked to the best it could, for a number of reasons. (Dead Space 2 hedging more toward action sounds hopeful, at least.) As for BioShock...

I wanted a Last of Us joke at any expense.
