Giant Bomb Community StarCraft II Tournament #8, March 26!
I think I'm actually playing in a local LAN on saturday, so I probably won't be able to play in the tournament. Also, I haven't practiced since the patch so I probably would have gotten stomped anyways XD Good luck guys.
@billnyethesciencepie:
Being a jerk about it isn't going to help your case. Just a tip.

Matched my best finish this time out, though it was a much smaller field this time 'round.
Good games all around. A few mentions:
a) That early rush from Nalas was SUPER scary. Thought you had me for the longest time man. Got super lucky with those VRs and that last fight, but I consider my win a pure fluke, you totally had my number.
b) You have some great FF placements dude! Too bad you're on EU, wouldn't mind bouncing some PvP stuff off of ya.
c) Sorry Cataphract! I feel so bad, as we always seem to hit each other at some point in the Loser's Bracket. I felt really bad after the hidden pylon 4 WG. Please forgive me!
d) Ugh, I just can't seem to beat you Cryptic. Should play straight up next time, gonna have to practice some stuff so I can take you next time.
I'm not going to say I will start playing more after this, as I say this after EVERY tournament and it never happens, rofl. But man, I might get lucky and take one down the line if I start getting some games under my belt.
Cheers all, see you guys again next month!
let this be a lesson kids, you too can lose twice and tie for 17th place o_O
playing those dudes in higher leagues than me has changed my perspective on the game. i don't even want to move up in leagues so badly anymore, i'm just glad i can pull some wins off people in bronze now.
I had the craziest and most satisfying game in my personal Starcraft 2 history with Hemlock.
Knowing I then had the slight macro advantage and near equal roach numbers with him also spending some money on static defence, I expanded and teched to lair and infestors seeing as they're great against roach and muta. The game then turned into a 20 or so minute slug fest between remaxing armies of roach infestor, with him 1 up on the upgrade advantage although I had more bases(5 at a point to his 3-4) so could replenish quicker. Eventually after holding off a large wave I switched over to muta and near maxed out whilst trying to hit and run his expansions before the infestors could come to defend. At this point he had also been trying to switch over to broodlords but I managed to snipe both his Greater Spire and Infestation Pit before he could get a decent corrupter count out.
Unfortunately, even though roach's can't shoot up, when they're at 3-3 upgrades 1-1 muta don't really hurt them much and he pushed into all my bases with growing roach numbers as we went for the base trade, I burrowed drones everywhere thinking to morph a few hidden hatch's when the roach's moved away but as I was killing his final hatchery I was auto-defeated. Even though I lost, it was great being in such a close game with a high diamond player (I'm silver) and it taught me a solid lesson about how quickly the game will have you lose by default.
Looking back on it of course reveals that it was really just a showcase of my terrible macro and decision making, but it felt grand at the time.
