    Stardock, a Michigan based developer started their business as an OS/2 developer with their first game being Galactic Civilizations. With the death of OS/2 Stardock moved on to the Windows platform, where it continues to work on various strategy games. 
    Stardock is known for releasing products with no DRM.

    In 2011 GameStop purchased their digital distribution platform named Impulse.
